Bought this off ebay but I'm not sure how to use it with sata drives and what cables.

 

going to be used in a off the shelf board and 8 drives, any help would be appreciated.

    it's and Expander, so you need HBA card to connect with one or two SFF-8087 cables. and then for each 4 sata disks you need one SFF-8087 to SATA forward breakout cable.
