September 21, 20187 yr Community Expert The Linux ‘file’ command from the CLI should allow you to identify the type (I.e. extension) for these files. It will not help with the name of the file but at least knowing the type is a start to deciding what to do next.

Well of course if there is good electrical connections then quickness and force won't have any effect. Sounds like some sort of issue like maybe a bad solder joint on the connector or something else which is causing intermittent problems with some electrical connection.
