sameranio
Hello, I'm still in my trial period of unraid and I should be buying it next week. Now I've been having issues trying to get my server to sleep with the s3 sleep plugin and I think it's because of these random network spikes i'm getting (these happen with dockers running and without them running). I didn't really know what info you would need so if I should add more info be sure to tell me. This picture is in idle with dockers running This picture is in idle with no dockers running And both the network graphs are almost identical. So I would think it couldnt be because of any of the dockers. Edited September 30, 2018 by sameranio Quote Link to comment
trurl
There are 3 plugins that might be helpful in getting to the bottom of this. You can install any of them from Apps (Community Applications). They are: Dynamix Active Streams File Activity Open Files Might also help if you would post your diagnostics. Tools - Diagnostics, post complete zip. Quote Link to comment
sameranio
Hello, The only things in the active streams plugin are from plex appdata whilst dockers are running: And there are no active streams with all the dockers off. In the file activity plugin I only get this when starting my dockers: And these are the files open in Open Files with nothing running: I've added the diagnostics zip to the files and thanks in advance for any help. tower-diagnostics-20180930-2329.zip Edited September 30, 2018 by sameranio grammar edit Quote Link to comment
sameranio
I installed a monitoring tool and also found out that if I stop the array the network spikes stop. (It's monitoring the br0 interface though so I don't know if that one goes offline when the array goes offline.) Edited October 13, 2018 by sameranio Picture added Quote Link to comment
sameranio
I'm still having these network spikes even after having had several upgrade to unraid and just upgrading my cpu/mobo, it doesnt bother me too much because the only thing this is preventing me from doing is making the sleep plugin use the network as a threshold to sleep. But I still would love to have an idea what the cause would be. Quote Link to comment

Have you ruled out a client on the network making requests? Possibly a media client checking to see if the server is online? Quote Link to comment
sameranio
Hmm, didnt think of that no. Just checked my kodi on my shield. I had watchdog installed and the spikes drop immediatly after I turn it off. I completly didnt think of it because it was always off while i was testing. Weird. Thanks for the help.
