DJCorpus
Hi everyone, I've just joined the forum and started using unRAID lately, so.. hi;) I'm in the process of building my rig and for now I'm using a SSF Lenovo M93p with i5-4750T. For now I have and SSD on SATA for cache and I want to add a couple of USB 3 drives for the array as I have a couple of 2,5" drives laying arround. My plan was to use USB 3 cases with UASP support (which work flawlessly on my i7-3770k on windows 10) but as far as I can see in unRAID they are not using uas but usb-storage driver. I've checked in lsusb and the drives support uas and in lsmod I cannot see module for uas. Also SMART is not working on te drive and temperatures are not reported. Is there no UASP support out of the box and it requires to compile a module for the kernel or am I missing something? Also i tried googling and I can't find any information about UASP and unRAID, is it only me having problems and am I doing something that literaly nobody does? Link to comment

Vr2Io
UASP not support. In fact, the actual speed different of UASP vs BOT was small. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/usb-3-uas-turbo,3215-4.html For SMART info readout. Only little USB enclosure would work with Unraid natively, most couldn't. Link to comment
DJCorpus
Ok, thanks. You are right, I probably do not need it anyways. Link to comment
