I chose 'Other' although it is not 100% correct. I have 2 x MediaPortal HTPCs connected to Synology NAS (which is now being migrated to unRaid. MediaPortal is similar to XBMC. Considering how much time I've spent setting it up I'm not planning to switch to XBMC unless my wife and I get iPhone 5s later this year.

 

The big advantage of XBMC is that its been ported to platforms other than Windows. The advantage of MediaPortal, if you stick with just the Windows platform, is that the live TV is (supposedly) better.

 

Either way, both are good.

I choose "browse via share" based on my Boxee Box accessing via shares.
