mtongnz
So... Fix Common Problems says there's MCE errors. Something about IRQs (since exporting my logs the error has gone away in FCP) The log says they're logged. I have no idea where they're logged or what this means. I just upgraded (new mobo, ram, psu - same drives). I had an i5 2600 with DDR3. It's now an i7 6700 (engineering sample) with 16gb DDR4 running at 2666. This error has happened since the upgrade. Any assistance would be awesome. Thanks nas-diagnostics-20191116-1300.zip Edited November 16, 2019 by mtongnz Add logs file Quote Link to comment
Squid
Nov 17 01:51:53 NAS mcelog: CPU 2 on socket 0 has large number of corrected cache errors in Level-2 Instruction Nov 17 01:51:53 NAS mcelog: System operating correctly, but might lead to uncorrected cache errors soon Doesn't look good. I'd say CPU issue, and with the number of errors being reported, probably best to replace the cpu 2 hours ago, mtongnz said: i7 6700 (engineering sample) Or to put it another way, a beta / alpha release CPU that may have issues. 1 Quote Link to comment
mtongnz
Could it be that it's an older BIOS? Quote Link to comment
Squid
Your version is pretty old. Worth a shot Quote Link to comment
mtongnz
Updated the BIOS. The ES cpu didn't like that - now it's not booting at all I guess I'll have to see what i7 deals pop up in the next couple of weeks Quote Link to comment
mtongnz
Got a new CPU. Seems to be running alright now (no drives attached though). I'm gonna run it for a day and see if any errors show up. Hopefully it's all good now Quote Link to comment
