gabemcg
After more than a month of data transfer from my old server to Unraid, I finally started moving my workloads over, and just got pfSense up and running as my Firewall in a VM. I decided now would be a good time to replace my USB key with a better one, but seem to be stuck as I need the array started and router VM running to have an internet connection to be able to send the "Replace Key" file link to my email. Is there an easier workaround than using a different router temporarily? Quote Link to comment

No. When using a pfSense VM as your main router (I do) you must have a backup router ready to go at any time. I have a rather old box with a pfSense install that I keep up to date. It's nowhere near as fast as the VM, but it works for the intended purpose. Quote Link to comment
trurl
If your current flash is working I suggest not replacing it with a "better" one. Better in what way? You can only get one replacement per year, why waste it? If it ain't broke don't fix it. Quote Link to comment
