qseb
Hi I just upgraded my server's motherboard and processor, and I'm having issues with my file permissions since this hardware change. All folders and files are "read-only". I can fix this with tools / new permissions + restart. But it works for a minute, after that all files and folders become again "read-only". Does someone here had the same issues ? update 1 : it look likes cache disk is the problem, if i unassign it, all permissions are good... Thanks Edited September 8, 2020 by qseb Quote Link to comment
trurl
Go to Tools - Diagnostics and attach the complete diagnostics ZIP file to your NEXT post in this thread. Quote Link to comment
qseb
The diagnostics zip, thanks chateau-diagnostics-20200908-1642.zip Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Diags look fine, but it's without cache assigned, if the 500GB was your cache disk it should be replaced, it has a failing now SMART attribute, one that means data can't be trusted on that disk. Quote Link to comment
qseb
Yes i know, it will be change soon, but i had already this smart attribute before i replace motherboard and cpu. I am running a pre clear on this disk, it will takes some hours, and i will test again. Quote Link to comment

If you mean you reformatted that disk and are using it again, then it is only a temporary fix because it is failing now. And simply formatting without preclearing would have had that same effect. qseb
No it means you didn't read my post until the end... But thanks for your help Quote Link to comment
trurl
I did read it to the end but still don't understand what preclear has to do with it. Do you mean it is solved because you decided to give up on the disk after preclear? Quote Link to comment
