vmax5000
I have read lots of answers on this subject, but I just want to be sure it's what I think it is. I downloaded the syslog and it looks to me like I'm having issues with drive 3 & 4. I think it is an issue with the sata cable, but I would just like to be sure that it's not the drives. I am currently running Unraid version 6.8.3. I just moved to a new house so I'm sure the server got jostled a bit during the move, and I kind of thought I might have some issues after the move, I wasn't dissapointed LOL. Any feedback would be appreciated, Thanks Randy syslog.txt Quote Link to comment
itimpi
There are definitely issues with drives on ata3 and ata4. They are not necessarily drives 3 and 4 so you might want to check that. If you post the system’s diagnostics zip file (obtained via Tools -> Diagnostics) we might be able to give more informed feedback. Quote Link to comment
vmax5000
Thanks, here is the zipped file, I really appreciate the help! Randy ultimate-diagnostics-20201202-1158.zip Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Main issue appears to be disks 3 and 4, check/replace cables, but your also using a Marvell controller and SATA port multiplier, we don't recommend either, especialy not both together, Quote Link to comment
vmax5000
I had bad ports on the motherboard and ordered an expansion board to replace them. Is that the Marvell controller that you are talking about? If so what can I get as a replacement or do I need to replace the motherboard? Thanks Randy Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Get one of the recommeded LSI HBAs, any LSI with a SAS2008/2308/3008/3408 chipset in IT mode, e.g., 9201-8i, 9211-8i, 9207-8i, 9300-8i, 9400-8i, etc and clones, like the Dell H200/H310 and IBM M1015, these latter ones need to be crossflashed.
