Disk Failing Multiple Times - Starting to think it's something else
Interesting. It's being powered by a cable that's also powering three other HDDs, which have had no issues. I guess for now I'll try another RMA and we'll see what happens! Thank you for your help.

Disk Failing Multiple Times - Starting to think it's something else
Extended SMART test failed immediately with "read failure". It just seems really odd that the same connection has had two failed HDDs back to back like this...

Disk Failing Multiple Times - Starting to think it's something else
Disk 13 of 13 in my array has failed now for the third time. The first time, it seemed completely dead, even though it was less than a year old. I did a warranty replacement, and that replacement was DOA, so they sent me another one. That one has been back in for about a month now, and after a recent server crash (not sure what happened yet), Disk 13 is once again saying it's dead. At this point, I'm thinking it's something else. My only thoughts are that either the cable has gone bad or the LSI card has gone bad. SMART short self-test completed without error. Here's my setup: Case: Fractal Design Define 7 XL in the storage config CPU: i7-13700k RAM: 64GB DDR5 Mobo: MSI Z790-P Wifi LSI: 2x LSI 6Gbps SAS HBA LSI 9211-8i from theartofserver on ebay Cables: 4x Cable Matters Internal Mini SAS to SATA Cable HDD: Seagate Ironwolf 12TB Any thoughts? tower-diagnostics-20250713-2129.zip

AMD 8700G with 780M iGPU
I ended up going with an Intel i7-13700k as it was on a solid sale at MicroCenter and it has the 770 iGPU, which has been great.

[Support] binhex - Sonarr
This is only for DDNS, right? I use Cloudflare for DNS but not DDNS.

AMD 8700G with 780M iGPU
Planning on upgrading my Unraid server this year, and was initially going to go with an Intel CPU that had the 770 iGPU for transcoding in Plex. I still might go that route, but this new AMD 8700G is very interesting to me. Since it just came out, I'm not seeing any comparisons between it and the Intel 770 for transcoding, but I'm wondering if anyone has any insights or thoughts into the matter?

Unassigned Devices Preclear - a utility to preclear disks before adding them to the array
Having some consistent issues with trying to preclear a 12 TB Seagate Ironwolf. I thought something was wrong with the first drive, so I RMA’d it, but the second drive is having the same issues. It seems to happen towards the end of the pre-read verification, and it’s always been a “low memory detected, aborting”, even though my memory usage is only around 30%. I’ve attached the Preclear log. Any ideas? EDIT: I installed and used Binhex's Preclear Docker, and it worked. Seems like the Unassigned Devices Preclear doesn't always work within the GUI. preclear_disk_DB98765432143_28936.txt

Ongoing Memory Issues
Ok, I'm just not sure what exactly is causing it. I haven't had any changes in the past few months as it's started happening. Just seems strange. I've got 24GB of RAM at the moment, with a max potential of only 32. Unable to use ECC due to mobo restrictions. I'll see if I can find an 8GB stick to fill the empty slot.

Ongoing Memory Issues
Hi everyone, I've had my server up and running for quite some time, and I've started noticing some memory errors. All of my docker containers will stop responding, only coming back after a server reboot. I'll also have random dockers mark themselves as "Not available". Really not sure what's happening. I've attached diagnostics, I'm hoping someone can see what's causing the issues. tower-diagnostics-20220704-2236.zip

[Support] binhex - qBittorrentVPN
I'm currently using this docker with Mullvad VPN. Everything seems to be working fine, but how can I check that all of the traffic is truly going through the VPN for this Docker? I have VPN_ENABLED set to yes, and I have my Mullvad ID in VPN_USER and VPN_PASS, and then I have VPN_PROV set to custom. I've had a few terabytes incoming and outgoing, and haven't been throttled or warned yet, so I'm guessing that it's working, but I just want to be absolutely sure that all of that traffic is going through Mullvad. Any tips are appreciated, thanks!!
