  1. Nice app and thanks for the work. Not sure what the deal is but the original link in the listing in Community Apps has a typo in the support thread link https://forum.unraid.net/topic/43651-plug-in-unbalance/ vs https://forums.unraid.net/topic/43651-plug-in-unbalance/ But was updated once I installed your app. I wasn't sure if this is on your end or CA's so I figured I would let someone know. Thanks again [edit] actually after a second look it appears to be an issue with the redirect so honestly not sure.
  2. Just a quick thanks to squid for this awesome plugin.
  3. Can you give me a a little more info on how to use the lighttpd package in unmenu. I installed it but I don't know what to do now. Full disclosure I use SF and not lighttpd With that being said, looks like basic config info can be found here: http://redmine.lighttpd.net/projects/lighttpd/wiki/TutorialConfiguration The most important aspect though is to password protect (strongest pass phrase you can remember) this if you open it to the internet (which you should NOT do unless you are very familiar and comfortable with network security)... IP's from China will try to break in. [edit] One more thing, you probably can not run with traditional ports for this. by default unraid already uses 80 and unmenue 8080 so keep that in mind when picking a port
  4. you could try unraid-web http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=3354.0 or unmenu http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=5568.0 with lighttpd package.
  5. Ok, silly question. My current vb install took a crap on me (dumb @$$ me pulled the plug on the server by mistake) and I am fixing on upgrading to r12 and trying out this plugin. Is there any pointers on what I would need to do to disable/remove my previous vb? Looking at the screens closely, this plugin configures the go script for me? (which is SUPER sexy) In my head (and mind you I am not at home to look at the fs for reference) I need to remove previous entries in go script and move all vb files an folders to a backup dir on my cache? I'm such a dork... I really am looking forward to trying this plugin out. It took me every bit of two weeks working on it nights and weekends to get vb set up right and running. It did not help that I was very wet behind the ears with unRaid, but still. This is going to be great. Thanks again for making this bud.
  6. wow! simply wow! Successfully installing and running vb on unraid was by far the hardest task when I first started using vb and now there is this! AMAZING and a huge THANK YOU! I can not wait to give this a go, but I will. I am too bloody terrified of fighting with vb again but will definitally keep an eye on this project... or maybe set up a test server... been meaning to do that anyways. Thanks again! p.s. )(*!&@#(*!@ LOVE UNRAID! w00t
  7. ok, indeed, it was vb that was the culprit. Got the flash to vanilla, upgraded to RC8, upgraded vb, and smoooooth sailing. You sig should come included with the unraid files... sure did help out. One last thing though, whats the deal with the discrepancies between what the syslog shows and the screen shows during boot?
  8. Thanks! That has got me back to square one at least. I assume the next step is to individually start adding things back to find the culprit? My money its virtualbox, but we will see. Thanks again for the help bud. ps. sorry for the late reply, whole bloody family passed the flu around and the file server has been on back burner.
  9. Ok, Long story short: Been messing around with setting up a vpn client for my xp vb to tunnel through. First attempt was with openvpn plugin for unraid. This did not pan out due to (what I assume) was my vpn provider's set up and my general shortage of linux knowlege. Second attempt was to just install openvpn gui within the xp vb (since that was all I wanted to tunnel anyways). This seemed to work so so until it started crashing the vb guest additions which caused all kinds of vulgarity. So now I am in damage control mode and I reboot the unraid server only to have it not properly boot. (ie, no unmenu, basic menu, telnet, ssh, phpvb, smb, nothing) Broke out the cable and hooked her into a tv and low and behold, it was hanging on the openvpn client plugin. Ok, simple enough, removed the plg and the reference in the go script, rebooted, now I am back in and *knock on wood* back to normal. So enough with the back story... 1. Mind you, it has been a while since I have even hooked her up to the tv, but I could of sworn after a kosher boot, it ends the boot sequence with the happy beeps and a prompt. There are no beeps (which is the signal for the successful execution of the boot scripts, right?) and no prompt. This last lines on screen pretain to the successful install of the vb guest additions (which is also last on my go script) and no prompt. This is not normal, correct? 2. Went right to the sys log and the last entry is starting unmenu server. Now, mind you, I am still a little green here, but shouldn't the syslog mirror what I see flashing across the screen while she boots? I am missing something here? I thought it was odd that there is no mention to logging into phpvb nor the starting of the vm (which appears to be running just like before the vpn experiment) 3. Most importantly, Happy name your computer day. My unraid server is named Marlene. Sorry to attach the whole syslog, I was not really sure which part is relevant. Thank you. syslog-2012-11-20.txt
  10. I have a vague recollection that somewhere in this thread it is mentioned that its best to have the vdi not on the array but on the cache drive (or a mounted drive outside of the array completely) due to performance issues. I do not know if this is what your problem is, but might be worth testing.
  11. The error is as follows, don't know what to make of it. Log has nothing unusual: Did it work with a previous version? The internets are not very helpful when it comes to the Code NS_BASE_STREAM_WOULD_BLOCK (0x80470007) error. The two posts I read that mentioned it... one was a dependency that was missing and the other was a permissions error... neither seem to fit your situation.
  12. 1. A HUGE thank you to everyone who has helped us n00bs to get this running. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside by how awesome the community for unraid is. 2. I think a rewrite of the instructions for this is in order. Too many useful tidbits are strung out through too many posts. I would gladly do this myself, but I must admit, I do not really know what I am doing here and the extent of my linux knowledge was mostly gained through setting up and working with unraid. 3. HUGE THANK YOU! -b
  13. ah I see. That makes sense. So let me ask you this, what if, for the sake of argument, I were to install to a separate (disposable) flash drive or, and I am going from memory here and what unraid can do, an old ide drive outside of the array? Thanks for the prompt response. -b
  14. Silly question, As I have been researching installing vb (my last hurdle for my unraid box to be done) and I could not help but notice that it seems that the preferred location for the vb install is on cache drive? I've only have a total of 5 drives with no cache at the moment and at this point do not know if I will go the cache drive route for my server... So my question is there any harm in installing to my flash drive? If space is an issue my thumb drive is 32gb with ton's of space so I don't see that as being an issue. A not so silly question, Before I attempt to install vb, is there anything that should be backed up in case things go sour? I think that is my biggest fear would be to loose my unraid install and be forced to start all over (its been a long painful road to this point) Lastly, One of the things that really sold me on unraid in the first place was the general friendliness of the forum regulars. Not only is this a mighty fine product (first os I have ever purchased much less felt was worth the money) but in all the posts I have read here, I have not seen one example of jerkstore n00b bashing responses to obvious questions. Keep on rocking folks. Thanks. -b
