  1. I have not setup a webserver, it is just basic unraid. But in the past i was able to just plugin the url into any browser or program and it could access it. Afterwards I have enabled the requirement for login to the server and since then I can't access the image without being logged in. So is there a method in Unraid for making an exception for a specific share og path?
  2. Hello I have a link to an image that is of the following format: http://192.168.1.101/mnt/user/movies/actors/actor_thumb.jpg The problem is that right now I have setup login requirement on my server, this also means that I can't access the url without login in. Is there a way to make a exception for login requirement for a specific folder containing image files? BR MJ
  3. Realising that this is by now a VERY old topic, I am planning to do something like this for myself. But what thing that worries me is noise from the exposed cables. Like when you cut a SATA cable in half and use it for connection, does it not introduce electrical noise and thereby decreased performance of the drives?
  4. Hello I've recently downloaded a management app called "Array" by "Advice Dog". It works great and let me see information about my server, while also allowing me to send a shutdowm command. What I am wondering is how does this communication work? More precisely, If I wanted to create my own program, which could get this data and send shutdowm commands, which communication protocols and commands would I use? Is there a guide/documentation somewhere detailing this? BR Mads
  5. Thank you both for your answers! I hadn't given any thought to the cooler before now.
  6. Hello Cummunity I will soon be moving and therefore want to make sure, that my drives are not damaged in transport. I know most HDD's have the function to park there heads, so they do not damage they disks, if the HDD's experience a bump during transport. Only problem is, I have no idea how to check if the HDD's are parked in unRaid, or how to force them to do so. So does anyone know the procedure? Is it as simple as stopping the array or shutting down the system? Furthermore are there any other precautions I should take when transporting my server? BR Mads
  7. Hello I have bought two 18 TB identical HDD drives, which, if possible, I want to configure to be mirrored in unRaid. From what I have been able to find on the forum, this should be possible, if these two drives were the only two in my array. Here comes the problem, that I already have a huge array of different size disks running. So how would one go about solving this? Should I use a raid card, which can do the mirroring and then report it as one drive to unRaid. Or is it possible to have unRaid do this natively?
  8. Hello I'm looking for a simple client to host all my cbz. files on my unraid server, so I can view them on my phone (Android). I've looked around and come past mylar3, calibre, ubooquiti, mango(couldn't add a user) etc... which I couldn't get to work. I'm still new to unRaid and servers in general, so tweeking in the terminal are not my greatest strenght. Is there maybe a docker I've have not tried, or is guide to get one of the other dockers to work?
  9. I have the following drives in my system. ST8000AS0002 ST8000DM004 ST16000NM001G From what I've been able to find on my own, the ST8000AS0002 is a SMR drive. But the two others I am not sure. I believe that the ST8000DM004 might also be SMR. It's only for movies, so when the files have first been written, the read speed is fast enough.
  10. Thank you both so much for your help. It was the cable there was the problem! I bought a OCF from a local store, and everything works flawlessly now! BR Mads
  11. I will first make sure I have the right "forward breakout" cable. But here is a picture of the card:
  12. Okay thank you. I just checked the cable I was using at is was reverse breakout, so that is definitely one reason it is not working. I have another cable lying that I think might be "forward breakout", but all I can find is, that it says "crossover". The cabel is: https://www.computersalg.dk/i/2104570/supermicro-ata-sas-kabel-md BR Mads
  13. Yes, I am using a SAS to SATA breakout cable. I only tried with one SATA connector, before, but now I have tried all four, with both SAS ports. None showed up. I also tried to flash it with A-11, and again tried all combinations of SAS ports and SATA connector, and again nothing showed up. I did these test on Windows 10 only. Just to make sure, that I'n not missing a step in the guide, here is how I did it: First I run "1.BAT" and "2.BAT" in DOS. I then run "3.BAT". Then "4-11.BAT" Then "5.BAT" I then reboot by pressing "Ctrl-Alt-Delete", and booting from the BIOS, where I chose to boot the USB as UEFI Inside the UEFI i choose the "fs0", since all other devices are disconnected expect fore som USB-hubs. I then run "6.NSH" It fails the adapter reset, but as per the guide, this was to be expected. Again using "Ctrl-Alt-Delete" I reboot into the UEFI, and run "7.NSH". I then program the address, and just use the one you use in your example. Last I again reboot into DOS, and run "4-11.BAT" a last time. After this, I just attach my normal boot SSD again, and test each of the SAS + SATA configurations, but to no avail. I'm sorry for the long post, but I hope that it may help to spot the problem. BR Mads
  14. It did't work unfortunately. I tried moving to another SAS port, and it did nothing. The sticker says D2607 A21, so I haven't tried the A11 yet, as I still expect it to be a A21. I've tried to move it to my unRaid server, just to see if that helped, but neither Windows og unRaid see the HDD's connected. They do however see the controller, as I can see it under "System Devices" on unRaid and under "Device Manager" in Windows. When starting on Windows it is now initializing, but just before starting is flashed the message, that "Avago MPT ROM, no supported devices found". I have another HBA card of the same model I could try, to see if it is the specific card that is something wrong with? Also is there a reason for the commands in the .bat files to not include the ".exe" extension? BR Mads
  15. Thank you for a quick answer. I'm am very new to this. I've now set the address, and run the 4-21.BAT a last time from DOS. As I understand it should now be flashed to IT-mode, and I should be able to connect HDD to it, and the computer will register them as normal drives. I'm currently testing in on Windows 10 before moving it to my unRaid server, but the harddrives are not showing up. Is it because it ONLY works on unRaid, or have I made a mistake somewhere (most likely senario). BR Mads
