6.9.x, LSI Controllers & Ironwolf Disks Disabling - Summary & Fix
So, I'm back. And this time with good news: It worked. Without one single issue. So thank you for that and now onto the details haha. I used the SeaChest Software and booted from a USB stick on my PC and did every drive one by one, one after the other. Luckily they were only four so it didn't took that long. After that, I booted the Server back up and upgraded to 6.10.3, which in between crashed my Cache drives but that has been fixed by now too. Fun Fact: While googling more about said topic, I came across the Synology Forums and it turns out, they have/had the same issues. 8 and 10 TB drives weren't been read properly, didn't even showed up - the whole nine yards basically. It all came down to the EPC feature set, Seagate is using from it's Enterprise drives on their Ironwolf drives. It is so new most Software can't really work with that on the consumer side of things and, that's the core issue, most Software developers aren't fixing it. Synology did it from their side after a ton of reports on their forums, deactivated the EPC as a whole, just as we did here manualy. So it's basically a Software side issue, that needs work from them. Anyway, that's it. This guide was immensely helpful, a big big Thank You to you for your work and this whole Thread, it did really saved my bacon. Thanks

Server won't Sleep with UPS connected
That, being automated, it goes to sleep at night when nobody uses it and wakes up in the morning, ready to be uses again. A shutdown, on the other hand, would reqiure typing in the Encryption phrase everysingle time again so that's not practical to/for me. Dynamix S3 Sleep Plugin with a custom wake up command. Works completely fine when it does and also does not harm anything. Yeah it's a desktop MB, it worked with sleep even before it became my server. So it wasn't that hard for me
-
Server won't Sleep with UPS connected
Yeah the MB is over 10 Years old, there aren't any updates anymore. Haha. But jokes aside, I think that too. Since the UPS is connected thru USB it won't sleep anymore the way it did before. It was setup to sleep between midnight to 10am in the morning, so it does not burn energy throughout the night when nobody is using it. That's why I got it setup to sleep in the first place, since the UPS got connected it doesn't do it anymore. A complete shutdown is actually not what I have in mind with all of that.

Server won't Sleep with UPS connected
I deactivated everything I could find but it still boots right up after clicking "Sleep". It goes down and seconds after it goes up again. I don't get it why it is happening tbh Specially not bc on wall power it works without issues and with the UPS connected, sleep is impossible.

Server won't Sleep with UPS connected
So I might need a different perspective on this one: I got myself and Eaton Eclipse 650 Din UPS for the Server. Connected it, instantly reconnized it thru the built in UPS Deamon, works well and does what it's suppose to be doing. But I've got an issue with my sleep settings: Everytime the Machine is sent into sleep mode, it wakes up 5 seconds after and continues to run til the next sleep attemp 5 min later. And it keeps happening until it's either past the sleep time or I manually shut it down. Anyone might have a guess why the UPS is now causing it to not go to sleep? It did work perfectly well when it was plugged directly into wallpower Thanks P:S: I'm stil on 6.8.3 so it might have something to do with that?

General Help needed, multiple Tasks
So, I need another look at this: Today, I started my server after a week long down time due to energy issues in my area, so far so good. When it first booted, everything seemed fine until I noticed how "laggy" accessing the shares over the network was. Also copying to them didn't worked so I thought: Hey, maybe time for a reboot. Well, long story short: I got stuck while rebooting and so I had to shut it down, the dirty way. Up on restarting it, Unraid showed me the Error of "USB drive is not read-write" in complete red. Since then, nothing worked. Pulling the USB out and putting in a Windows machine and trying to fix it also didn't work. So: Do I have to replace in order to get it backup and running or what are u guys thinking?

6.9.x, LSI Controllers & Ironwolf Disks Disabling - Summary & Fix
Would like to know If this is stil needed or has been, sort of, fixed in the latest 6.10.XX Version? By now It's the only reason I'm not updating

Thanks, I will take a look at both of them right about now

General Help needed, multiple Tasks
First of all: Thanks for taking a look at it I did what u asked and it didn't even run a short Smart Test, nevermind an Extended One. So I think that drive is dead or close to it. Besides, Quick question: Is it common that Plex writes data to the Cache all the time? At least something is writing to the Cache all the time, roughly 2 to 7 mbit per disk and I don't think any drive will survive this in the long term? What kind of Cache do you have?

General Help needed, multiple Tasks
Hi. (I'm a pretty expierenced User, Just had to take a pretty long break due to health reasons. That's why I'm asking more general then specific questions) After a pretty long time, I'm back doing maintenance on my Unraid Build and given, it's stil running 6.8.3 it is time and well needed. But I've got some issues or actually more asks, regarding the upgrade to 6.10.X: First: Is Unraid stil having this issue with LSI HBA's and Seagate 8TB Drives? The last time I, tried, to upgrade I had to rebuild my complete array due to this issue. This is a pretty decent and good guide to fix it but I'd like to know If any of you had issues with it since? Second: Are Eaton UPS's, Eco Or Pro, good with Unraid to use i.e, I think a lot of you recommend them for a reason, right? Or should I lookr for Line Interactive or Online UPS's? I'm just asking bc it is "only" for home use. Third: I'm going to attach the diagnostics file, can any of you check the cache/SSD's in there? I know they are spitting out erros but I'd like to know how bad it is and IF I should replace them soon and, maybe, with what in particular? Lastly, I know I have to do a lot of updates and also setting up Notifications, stil but I'm on it. I just need to fix the issue with the drives and the OS Versions first:D Thank you server-diagnostics-20220719-1141.zip

6.9.x, LSI Controllers & Ironwolf Disks Disabling - Summary & Fix
I kno that they have changed but after trying like 10 different combinations, I'm quite stuck here. Which isn't your fault to say, I'm just wondering How I can fix it. And that's a good idea. I usually understand it, which it actually is but sometimes u forget what a line break stands for. But as said, not your fault we all are just trying our best

Disk Error, Need help to figure out what to do
Yeah, I thought so that it could be the reason for those issues. A few months ago, I also did the update to 6.9.x and I had to rebuild my parity because of these issues. Well, looks like I got work to do
-
Disk Error, Need help to figure out what to do
To answer both of you: The only thing that changed over the last few days is that I updated from 6.8.3 to 6.9.2. Everything else is and was the same. They are all powered up the same way as before and all cables are fixed in place. Maybe the HBA is giving up? Don't really think that the Powersupply is the issues here, given that all 3 drives are on cable while the unit is 650 watts, do not really believe that they have to less power available.

Disk Error, Need help to figure out what to do
So, now all of the disks have erros. So does anyone have an idea what this could cause or do I need to order different hardware? Can't really Imagine that all drives are going to give up their god now server-diagnostics-20210823-1150.zip

Disk Error, Need help to figure out what to do
Well. I just had the same 4 errors on my other array disk. I'm pretty sure it can only be something with the HBA or the system itself. Otherwise it wouldn't make any sense

Disk Error, Need help to figure out what to do
I was just curious because my check dropped from 270 mbits to 130mbits during the runtime of the check. But yeah, that makes way more sense EDIT: No erros where found during the check, average speed was the same as before too. So, I guess, It was a random i/o error then?
