While copying files, i get a notification in windows that says the share is unavailable. If I click on the share it just freezes for a while and then gives me the same notification. Then If I go into unraid shares page that share is missing but all the other ones are there.

Thanks Ill move those. MV2_TVShow_Share is the one currently that keeps dropping off.. Seems to happen when writing lots of data from multiple computers. Since I use this as a backup server you see why this can be an issue.

Has anyone discovered the solution to when UNRAID individual shares become unavailable when other shares are fine. Reboot seems to fix the problen but annoying none the less. Ive come across a bunch of posts about it but nothing difinitive. Thanks

Curiosity Question: SO, NEW SERVER, and for some reason shares were basically unusable to either of my macs. It took so long to even open a share that the finder crashed. Windows transfers were mostly fine but just a little slower than my other server. I The share name was "-Media Files" and I was trying to access a subfolder name -Movies. File transfers to the mac were basically impossible. After screwing around with the settings for a few days, I created a new share named "Movies" and used Krusader to move the files to the new share. Transfers are now fine. So I am curious as to if the file name could have had something to do with the slow transfers for could there be another simpler reason. Is it possible that the share was simply corrupted somehow? The problem is fixed but I am just curious as to what might have caused slow transfers from the mac but not the windows box. Thanks for any input.

I cant seem to figure out why one of my cache drives shows 6.54 GB of data but when I look at the drive it is empty. No folders, no nothing. Any suggesstions? Thanks

This confused me because I assumed the files would be moved to the final destination once the server started again even though the cache drive had changed which is whay I suggessted a clean-up option. If I had not been paying attention I would have not copied the files again assuming that they had already been moved.

Yes: Thats what I mean. Im just monkeying around on a new server right now, but it seems that if I copy files to a share using a cache drive, then I change the cache drive for that share to a different one before the mover has moved them, they just stay there on the old cache drive. I think in my case, I did the following: I was trying to compare write speeds HD vs SSD. copy files to a share using an HD cache drive using krusader stopped server to add an SSD (before the move was completed) changed the cache drive for that same share to the SSD. When I started the server and invoked the mover, the files never moved from the old cache drive. I could go into Krusader and copy them again and it did so using the new SSD cache but the other files were left on the old HD cache.

A button to clean up the cache drive and move stuff where it was supposed to go before you changed the cache drive. It may already do something like this but it seems to me that if I change the cache drive before the mover has moved everything it just leaves the files that have not been moved where they are.

Is Krusader still the prefered GUI file manager. I thought I read somewhere that it had been abandoned. It seems a bit buggier than I remember it now that Im moving terabytes of files. Just curious.

Hello: I have two PRO Server Keys. Both are listed in the MY Servers dashboard. Server two is up and running. Server one is up and running. Data is currently copying from Server one to server two. Once all the data is moved over I plan on Moving the Server one license key to new hardware with a new config. I will be re-using the Server one USB stick and license. My question is: How do I remove Server one from the My Servers Dashboard so I can add the new server one with a new name? Thank You.

Hello: Watched a few videos by "SPACEINVADER." Does anyone know what plugins are used to make those customized dashboards. Seems like I could get a lot more info at a view that way and to be honest... It looks cool.

Well now Im getting with DHCP - Eth0 does not exist. Imn wondering if this card is not supported. I read something about this earlier. Ive just ordered another card to see if that works. Unfortunately I threw away a box of old cards that I had laying around a few months ago.. My Timing Sucks.

I inputted a static IP when I made the disk but I will just do it DHCP until I get it figured out. Will Unraid console update dynamically while sitting there or do I have to reboot after switching cables? Thanks for the help.

Looked at that just now - It was already set to eth0. I even pulled the battery and power to see if factory reset would fix it. LOL - I thought this would be easier. I might try installing windows on it to see if windows recognizes it. In any case that would also give me the slot assignment information and if it does I can test each port. With 96MB Ram and 16 cores I hope I can get it to work, Would make a hell of an unraid server.

AS AN UPDATE: On the 4 NIC card, only one lights up when plugged into it. I booted into GUI mode. I can scroll down and change the NIC from 0 to Io1 and it shows minute amounts of traffic but I can still not ping put or in.

I realize this isnt an HP groups but I figure some of you have a similar config? MOVING MY Unraid server to real hardware finally. I bought a DL360p server because why not, they are so cheap these days. It has an onboard NIC and a 4 port NIC card. The onboard by default grabs a DHCP address of 192.168.1.X. (I can assign this statically if I want) but it is normally used for remote management. How do I tell UNRAID to use a specific port on the 4 port card? Right now I can ping the 192.168.1.X address but NOT the unraid address I want to use which is 192.168.1.101. Thanks for any help?

Well that sucks, These are Kensington sticks so WTF? I just found one more then I guess Ill be placing an Amazon order.

So I used the original key and created a new disk using the USB creator. I copied the old license key into the config folder and booted which gives me the Pro - invalid key error in the corner. I click on that and then click on the replace key button. I type in my email and then I get "Sorry, an error occurred registering USB Flash GUID 0781-5581-0001-220825111220 The error is: GUID '0781-5581-0001-220825111220' is already registered to another user" The weir thing is that then I tried it with a completely different USB stick and got the same error and then once again with a third USB stick. It been three or four years since I replaced my key so I am confused. (and out of USB sticks) lol
