  1. Lion and bobkart, thank you. I combined both of your methodologies while using shares and eliminating the "resierfs" part and it worked. I got much better copy speeds than I expected. I used Midnight Commander (type: mc) and it was pretty straightforward. I will modify my response to include the commands I typed for clarity. I am also thinking about seeing if I can(or it makes sense) to combine Synchthing in here and not use Midnight Commander (I don't know that even makes sense). I'm so happy guys!
  2. It's not too later. I personally have a few terrabytes to go yet. Can you provide directions on how to do this? Did you use something like MC (Midnight Commander) to do the copy? Thank You
  3. HAVOC, thanks for responding to me. That didn't work. I think I must be missing something fundamental about Docker and adding plugins. I used the pre-packaged Plex and BTsynch and remain unable to access my unRAID server's media from within those program. I'll go back and re-read the forums and see if I missed any basic guidelines. Thank You. HAVOC... everyone... this was the root of my issues. I didn't understand the best way to use the "Container Volume" and the "Host Path" within a Dockerized app. This link explains it well: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=35531.msg330955#msg330955 This link is also helpful: http://seandion.info/unraid/unraid-dockers/ it has a recommendation about the Docker image size which apparently another thing that can cause people issues. Thanks all
  4. Well bummer.... I also made one and should have looked here first. hahah http://seandion.info/unraid/unraid-dockers/ I wrote it a while ago, but should have linked to it. Its not titled as a how too create a docker. I modified my post above, but here it is also. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=35531.msg330955#msg330955 Hello, Smdion If you add some clarification and an example of the "Container Volume" and "Host Path" I think your document would perfect. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that you also provided definitions. Thank You.

It was that "container volume" and "Host path" business that was causing me issues. I found clarification in another forum here (I'll point there too when I can find it again), but your Document would have ended the pain immediately. You are going to help a lot of people.. especially those of us who are not developer minded. Thanks.
  6. I can't wait for this new guide. I wish I saw this two days ago. Thank you. I am having issues with setting up Plexmediaserver and Btysync. I'll retry creating those containers when my server is free again. Hopefully I just made a minor mistake. I suspect I am putting the wrong thing in the "Container Volume." I tried just putting /config as I'm not sure what else I am supposed to put. Whatever I do, once I get a Dockerized App running and call upon it's webgui I am unable to direct it the shares where my data resides. I have no rights. I'm unRAID 6.12 FYI.

  8. HAVOC, I hate to ask a stupid question but what did you run in Putty? I now how to initiate Putty and log into a server? I was able to install Plexmedia server from the default Docker apps in Unraid 6. Once I had plex up and running I found I could not expand my media folders to point it to. I don't know if this is part of that "newperms" business or I have a lot of issues going. lol. This my first day using Docker.
  9. I don't know if this is out of scope. But maybe there should be an addition on how one might transfer from an unRAID server to another. I'm going from an unadventurous unRAID implementation (Media server/ Data backup) to trying to test EVERYTHING I've been reading in the blog. Pathetically copying from one server to the other without using my Windows 7 as an intermediary has been consuming my time. I am going to try to some directions a fellow unRAID user was kind enough to post...but an addtion to this blog might be quite helpful for us low to mid (barely) level skillsets. Thanks (as always)
  10. I didn't know there was even an attemp to come up with a GUI. I wish I knew how to create one. I get clobbered by all of these commands. Right now I am trying to copy between servers with the command. If there is a place to vote for this I will. I think people (especially new to mid level unRAID folk) would really be glad to have it.
  11. This is a great question. I am frustrated by this even when copying files under 2gbs. Here's a question. Can I copy data from one server to another without using rsync? I plan to copy to a different directory structure. I am also copying from 5x to 6x. Can I essentially use midnight commander to copy from one server to another? Does that even make sense? I imagine doing something involving a Windows workstation as an intermediary would just slow things down. Please realize I know just enough to be dangerous but am not a super Linux literate. Thank You
