not trying to snipe this thread... but perhaps applicable... I have filled up my 8 bay system... while my sas controller can handle 16 drives... I will be needing something larger soon... do you guys have some suggestions as to server case or HHD enclosure that makes sense? I can go in any direction... be it a different computer case or a server chassis. Thanks

I am installing the linux server now... but I was running the docker version for the past 8 months... and when it failed i switched back to the plugin version... which worked for a few months.... and then started having issues... perhaps plex is not able to handle the size of my collection?

no... I was not... Also I was having issues with playback before I started to try and fix the problems... My last option is to install a vm and try and host the plex server there... that's not the preferred option... but I am at a lose for what the issue is... but on the bright side it will give me the chance to clean up my server folders...

I also just completely removed the docker and readded it... nothing's changed...

yes it does... the only that that is amiss about the server of recent... replaced a data disk that also needed to have it's tree rebuilt... and shortly after that the parity drive failed... I just put in the new parity drive and it's building now... so I would understand if things ran slowly... but... it's had enough time to settle that plex should be responsive... Also... the Phaze plugin version has the same issue... the only strange thing there that I can point out is that it's reporting the following.... " Total Storage Usage: 9479 MB Install Directory: 4862 MB Config Directory: 4617 MB Transcode Directory: 0 MB " on a new install...

I am caught a little bit short here... I have been having issues with plex of recent... I have installed and reinstalled the docker and phaze versions of plex and they are all stuck at the "plex" logo before accessing the login page for plex... ie this is a fresh install... I have changed the directories to where they are installed rebooted the server insured that I had the lastest versions of all... But I am still stuck on that screen... Anyone have any ideas as to why it is stuck on this screen???

Thanks for the reply... I will do that tonight... But what interests me is why 3 days ago I plugged the HD in and the system recognized the HD... It is to be noted that I had to play around with where I inserted the HD because the first time I plugged it in some of the other HD disappeared... But after I moved the new HD into a different slot the system went back to normal... And three days later the new HDS are missing again... Maybe the SAS controller is acting up? I did go into /dev/disk/by_id and the new disks were not listed there either...

thanks for the reply... but that not really addressing the problem... i was able to plug the HD in via USB to a windows machine... It did see the HD and reported the correct size for it... but without formatting it... i wasnt able to go further and also try and get a smart report... i then plugged it back into the raid and rebooted the bare metel machine just to be sure and it still doesnt see the HD there... suggestions?

Can your BIOS see the drive? If not then probably a connection problem. Wish I knew... Its a virtual setup running through a SAS controller...

hello there... I have to ask this question... I currently have two new 5tb HDs preclearing but im a bit concerned with how long it's taking... it's now been 78 hours and im still at step two with 35% complete thus far... I feel like that's a bit out of the norm... suggestions??? PS... after looking at the stats a bit more... the script wasnt progressing at all... so I killed the script to try and rerun it again but the HD wasnt there.... I have restarted the computer and still the HD isnt listed in preclear or as an unassigned device in unraid's site... Has the HD failed??? beyond reseating the device and doing what i have done i dont know what else to do in Linux... Eep.... Help@!@
