  1. Could you share your settings? Mine doesn't work: switch: - platform: wake_on_lan mac: 52:xx:00:xx:2c:xx broadcast_address: 10.0.1.xx broadcast_port: 9 host: 10.0.1.xxx name: 2023-xxxx-gaming
  2. Strange indeed... I have to find one that fits a X1. I have 2 X16 but those have GPU's inside of them and then 2x X1.
  3. I'll try that. Is one as this a possible candidate? Link I am also wondering if transcoding in memory could cause this? I use my memory for plex encoding.
  4. Hello, so after a month of waiting today the BTRFS scrub yielded again 5 errors. I have already changed the cables and changed the asmedia controller with a new one and ran memtest for 24 hours without errors. The weird thing for me is that it is always 5 errors (I reset the disk stats everytime and it is a different file). This time it is a file that was downloaded 29 march. It happens only to the disks connected to the asmedia controller. Any pointers? The data corrupted is easily replaced but it is driving me nuts… it has to do something with the controller or all the disk would be effected…?
  5. Okay if there are no memory errors I will buy a new controller. Do you prefer a brand? Otherwise I’ll buy the one listed below: IO Crest
  6. Thank you for your answer. I recently upgraded all ram and the errors kept coming back. So I’m thinking it is the controller. I will run a memtest tomorrow night to be sure. Do you have a recommendation for a sata controller (4sata ports x1)?
  7. Hello, I’ve been seeing some BTRFS errors for a while now. Last week I changed all my cables but today I was alerted of another one. Is there something else that could be the cause here? I attached my diagnostic file. Really looking forward for some tips here… I read around the forum but I cannot see any reason why my system should be giving these errors (except bitrot?). I do use SATA controller: ASMedia Technology Inc. ASM1064 Serial ATA Controller but this should work according to the recommended sata controller guide I found on this forum. Thanks in advance! 8. Following this post I'm posting my diagnostics in the hope this is not a grave error. Fix Common Problems gave me an error about Machine Check Events Thank you, Soul homelabserver-diagnostics-20240110-0513.zip
  9. I’m using this template, but it seems to not be configured properly? It creates the file but with a different user. I had to add user_id: as a variable and then set it to 99. Now it shows as the right owner. I think the variables already defined don't match what is needed according to this. File permission and directory permission do not seem to work also... Am I alone in this? Thank you!
  10. still seeing this issue :(. If I reboot the server it works until it does not anymore. homelabserver-diagnostics-20230706-1925.zip
  11. Hello, I have a weird issue. Sometimes my VM does not boot anymore. I get the following error: If I restart my unaid machine the VM boots as if nothing is wrong. After a while I get the error again and I need to reboot my unraid server. 15. I made an error using Syslinux (added video after /bzroot!). The following works perfectly label Unraid OS menu default kernel /bzimage append isolcpus=4-11,16-23 pcie_acs_override=downstream,multifunction video=efifb:off initrd=/bzroot thank you for the tip!
  16. I think I'm botting using UEFI? I changed it to the following: label Unraid OS menu default kernel /bzimage append isolcpus=4-11,16-23 pcie_acs_override=downstream,multifunction initrd=/bzroot,video=efifb:off I think I already binded everything since I needed to do that for passing the card :).
  17. Hello, I've been using Unraid for about a month now and I have a small question: Do you need to unplug the HDMI cables from the GPU when booting up the server each time or is there a trick that I can use? If I leave them in I cannot passtrough my GPU because it is already in use by unraid (basic console screen). Thank you!
  18. Hello all, I'm currently an owner of a Synology DS418+ and a saltbox server with hetzner (I've been dabbling with linux for +-10 years). I'm thinking of moving everything to my own homeserver but Synology is to limited for my needs. I think I'm happy with my choices but I wanted to post it here to see if I'm missing something. 2 NVME: 1 data & 1 parity for pictures, files, lightroom files, homeassistant VM... important but I read that you should not use an NVME for a parity drive? 1 SSD: *arr , plex, nzbget (thinking on running this in VM on a local saltbox server with docker so I can lock cores to the VM)=> not important, I'll backup the config files to the cloud 4 HDD: media storage => not important. If I lose a HDD I redownload everything if I want to. Any feedback? The things I'l probably miss from synology is Synology Drives and Synology Photos. Tips for alternatives?
