I don't understand ZFS.
I am missing something painfully obvious and I don't know what I am doing wrong. I had two 4 tb drives that I called "media_and_movies" configured as RAID 0. I recently bought an extra 4TB so I wanted to turn my pool into a raidz1. pool th So I formatted all my drives as zfs, clicked on the add pool, selected the three drives, then found the setting for zfs1 when i clicked on the main/first drive. After I clicked start.. My pool is listed as 4 TB.. not eight.. Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong and reccomend a good video for setup? edit: i don't know if it matters in this case, but I am using Raid 7.0 (the newest update_ tower-diagnostics-20250207-1622.zip

Does the graphical interface work in unraid 7?
I recently bought a USB 2.5G adapter, which worked the first time I connected it via my switch. i was using my wireless internet connection. But as soon as I connected my windows 11 mini pc to the switch, the unraid server stopped working. So I went back to the orgiinal setup to try and edit the network settings and now nothing works no matter what I do, altho if I login via the cli, I can ping 1.1.1.1 when connnected to my usb-c nic. I tried using the graphic OS to change the settings back to bridged, whichis what it was when it was working, but all I get is a blank screen with a blinking cursor.. anyone know how i can restore the nework settings so that eth1(my usb nic) is the default? diagnostic.zip

Not sure if I'm smart enough for Unraid Part II
tower-diagnostics-20240922-0911.zip I am at my wits end, I finally got my server stable thanks to the tip about changing the power state because of my AMD ryzen chipset, but I have been doing something consistently wrong and I have no idea what. When I get one docker or feature to work the way I want it to and I installl the next docker or VM, it will sometimes delete my ENTIRE configuration, and I have to try and start over.. The worst offender seems to be the dockers for Plex media server, when I first installed it, the transcoding worked flawlessly with my Nvidia Strix RTX 2060. I have tried starting over with a configuration that was working perfectly *had to transfer my license to a new USB* but when I added the hardware transcoding information back in I got this: This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. Unraid Server keeps rebooting after long periods of inactivity
i managed to find the settings thank you. I have also been having issues with my plex server, getting errors like 'file not found' 1102 which says it has something to do with transcoding and my docker files disappearing altogether. Could this mean that i have a failing drive?

Unraid Server keeps rebooting after long periods of inactivity
I am using unraid version 6.13 with a AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core @ 3200 MHzr, a Strix B350F motherboard and 32G of ddr 4 ram. I don't know if its something in my setup but for some reason when I leave the server unattended or just don't use it for a while, it seems to reboot. Sometimes it will reboot immediately after turning it on. I have enclosed diagnostics. If anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong I would greatly appreciate it.tower-diagnostics-20240915-1235.zip

Switched ISP can't access web gui
Sorry, I should have done that.. As it turns out, I managed to get it to work by setting a static ip address, which gave me gui access from windows, but not internet.. Was a typo in the server settings Now I just have to figure out how to restore my docker containers.. I had the backup appdata installed, but for some reason it's not reading the restored data.. *shrug* tower-diagnostics-20240910-0758.zip

Switched ISP can't access web gui
I recently switched internet provider, and now my unraid server is not able to connect directly to the router like it did before after much back and forth and trial and error, i did manage to connect my computers by bridging the ethernet port of my windows 11 pc and using a second wireless adapter to share the internet. My server computer that normally uses unraid works under linux mint 21, but i can not access the web gui from the windows pc when unraid is running my old isp used numbers like 10.0.0.195 and this one uses 192.168.xx.xx here is a screen shot of linux: ifconfig enp4s0: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet 192.168.137.133 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.137.255 inet6 fe80::f8e2:be5:272b:f205 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x20<link> ether b0:6e:bf:bb:32:45 txqueuelen 1000 (Ethernet) RX packets 6227 bytes 5406272 (5.4 MB) RX errors 48 dropped 0 overruns 0 frame 48 TX packets 3816 bytes 755028 (755.0 KB) TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0 device memory 0xf6900000-f691ffff lo: flags=73<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING> mtu 65536 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 255.0.0.0 inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128 scopeid 0x10<host> loop txqueuelen 1000 (Local Loopback) RX packets 988 bytes 130158 (130.1 KB) RX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 frame 0 TX packets 988 bytes 130158 (130.1 KB) TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0 here iss what is on my windows: C:\Users\jclay>ipconfig Windows IP Configuration Unknown adapter Tailscale: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::d8ff:5060:f230:9168%38 Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address. . : 169.254.83.107 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.0.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : Ethernet adapter Ethernet 2: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::ad01:1d1e:b776:bfa0%13 IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.56.1 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : Wireless LAN adapter Local Area Connection* 1: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Wireless LAN adapter Local Area Connection* 2: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Ethernet adapter Ethernet: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::5253:3e3:790:56b0%17 IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.137.1 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : IPv6 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 2001:56a:75c7:1800:7d9:82:6450:e3a0 Temporary IPv6 Address. . . . . . : 2001:56a:75c7:1800:30bc:ee51:1e64:7b3f Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::9dd5:f4a:9a8:798c%19 IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.77 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : fe80::fe2b:b2ff:feff:bc0%19 192.168.1.254 Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi 2: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : IPv6 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 2001:56a:75c7:1800:b7ef:2d90:a43b:7409 Temporary IPv6 Address. . . . . . : 2001:56a:75c7:1800:a855:2630:5f69:4c79 Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::2435:b802:94e0:96cc%10 IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.81 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : fe80::fe2b:b2ff:feff:bc0%10 192.168.1.254 anyone have any ideas on what i'm missing?

Do i need to set up the third device for Nividia Card
so. I tired to pass thru my Nividia Geoforce Strix RTX 2060 6G card but I got the following error "internal error: qemu unexpectedly closed the monitor: 2024-07-25T03:41:29.055478Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device {"driver":"vfio-pci","host":"0000:08:00.0","id":"hostdev0","bus":"pci.0","addr":"0x6","romfile":"/mnt/cache/isos/Asus.RTX2060.rom"}: vfio 0000:08:00.0: group 17 is not viable Please ensure all devices within the iommu_group are bound to their vfio bus driver." After checking system harderware group 17 shows the following: " IOMMU group 17: [10de:1e89] 08:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation TU104 [GeForce RTX 2060] (rev a1) [10de:10f8] 08:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation TU104 HD Audio Controller (rev a1) [10de:1ad8] 08:00.2 USB controller: NVIDIA Corporation TU104 USB 3.1 Host Controller (rev a1) Bus 005 Device 001 Port 5-0 ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 006 Device 001 Port 6-0 ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub [10de:1ad9] 08:00.3 Serial bus controller: NVIDIA Corporation TU104 USB Type-C UCSI Controller (rev a1) " I didn't really understand it all that well, but I did look at the video that said something about having to edit the xml so that it points to the same device.. There are 3 devices listed here, do I need to do the same thing for the third device. Also I downloaded my Rom for my Strix Gepfprce RTX2060 but I couldn't find the section mentioned in the vide there's mp ,emtopm pf VGA amuwjere/ do I still need to edit this? using 6.12 with Ryzen 5 processor and a Strix B350F motherboard, I aso read something about some AMD hardware having issues.. is there a way to prevent server from sleeping
I'm currently using 6.12.11 but I've had this issue since I've installed 6.10. I'm using s Ryzen 5 proccessor with 32G of memory and a strix b350f motherboard.. It seems no matter what I'm doing on the server, as soon as the server goes to sleep, everything becomes unresponsive, including the webs gui, and nothing will wake it up. I've tried to send wake on lan packet, but that doesn't work and neither does pressing the power key.. is there any way I can keep the machine terminal active/always on? tower-diagnostics-20240724-0749.zip

Can anyone point me to a good guide of ZFS?
no, I wanted one pool that basically takes my two 4TB drives and treats ist as a 8TB drive.. I was going to use a second 8TB drive i purchased as parity in the array..
