  1. I'm transcoding everything into h264. There's 5 video encoder options for h264. Is one better then the other? Which one would be the better one to use? Thanks
  2. Hello, A few questions. does only one worker transcode one movie at a time? or can multiple workers transcode the same movie? What does everyone think of the output quality? How does it compare to say something like using handbrake? I just had it do one movie for me and it only reduced the file size by a couple of gigs. I'm having it transcode from MKV to MP4. Thanks
  3. Thanks for everyone's help. I ran the memtest which took like 4 days to complete. It didn't come up with any errors. I ended up just pulling out all the ram and reseating them. I haven't had anymore machine errors since. Thanks
  4. I'm running the memtest now. The bios log only said communication error it didn't say anything specific about ram.
  5. Not for about 5 years since I put the server together. Should I run one? Sent from my LM-Q720 using Tapatalk
  6. Hello, My log is getting alot of Machine Check Event errors. Not sure what the issue is. Here's my log. syslog.txt
  7. For a while now Ive been getting an error message while trying to play trailers through plex. CONVERSION FAILED. THE TRANSCODER EXITED DUE TO AN ERROR. Any one else get this error? I would like to be able to play the trailers for the movies I have on plex. Thanks Sent from my LG-G710 using Tapatalk
  8. I had a similar problem with my fire tv box. It would shutter for a few seconds every few minutes. I ended up downgrading the plex app on fire tv and everything is working great. Not sure about the web Chrome but it should work for your Android device. I followed this https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/286319/how-to-downgrade-to-older-version-of-plex-on-firetv Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  9. Well I never got a response from Dell so I went ahead and used the steps from https://digitalcardboard.com/blog/2014/07/09/flashing-it-firmware-to-the-lsi-sas-9211-8i-hba-2014-efi-recipe/ I went ahead and used the 9207-8i IT firmware that Fireball3 posted and it looks like it worked. I didn't get any errors. After I flashed everything it's still showing it a 9217-8i but it's in IT Mode and not IR mode. I still need to put it in my server to verify everything boots up and works, which I'll do shortly but it's looking promising. Just want to give a big thanks to everyone in these forums for all the help you give everyone. Thanks Chris Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  10. Hello, I'm just wondering what's the best way to copy files from my unraid shares to my phone over wifi? These will all be small audio book files under a gig. Right now I just attach the phone to one of my computers via USB cable. Not sure if it's possible but there's a way. Thanks Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks for the reply. I'll email Dell to see if they have any stock firmware for the 9217 and or ask if flashing the 9207 FW will work with the 9217. I'll update if and when I get an answer Dell. Thanks Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  12. Hello, I just purchased a Dell SAS 9217-8i GTP9G PCI Express x8 6Gbps 8-port SAS/SATA RAID Card. Can anyone point to the correct firmware I need to flash this into IT Mode. I've tried to read up on it and I'm still not sure what firmware I need. The help is always appreciated. Thanks, Chris Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  13. Hello, I just bought a Dell SAS 9217-8i GTP9G PCI Express x8 6Gbps 8-port SAS/SATA RAID Card on eBay. I should have checked before but is this a good controller? It sounds like I need to flash into IT mode. Is it difficult to flash? My setup: Motherboard: AsRock EP2C602-4L/D16 CPU: 2 x Intel Xeon e5-2670 Total of 9 hard drives. 2 will be put on the on board sata connectors and the other 7 will use the card above. Thanks, Chris Sent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
  14. Hello, I'm hoping one of you have ran into this. I have trailer files for every movie I have. They sit inside the same folder as the regular movie but with a - trailer at the end of the file name. How would I stop radarr from thinking that the trailer file needs to be upgraded to a Bluray quality file? It's done this to me a few time so now I have 2 Jaws 1080p movie files instead of one movie file and a trailer file. I would rather not have to put the trailers in a separate folder as I have well over 1000 movies with trailers within the main movie folder. Thanks, Chris
  15. Is there any testing I can do on the CPU or should I look at replacing it?
