  1. Am I able to use this plugin to both : 1. Store an ISO to load in KVM 2. Map a path to an outside of the array disk, that will be a share used inside of the vm? If I were to use this plugin to mount an out of the array disk to say /mnt/udevdisk, So for the enclosed picture: I would like "OS Install ISO" to be /mnt/udevdisk/Mythbuntu14.04.ISO vDisk location would remain the same : /mnt/cache/MythBuntuVM/vdisk1.img for "Unraid Share" would I able to use: /mnt/udevdisk/recordings to map to "/recordings" inside the vm? I don't believe I need any scripts for this would I? Only this plugin mounting the out of array disk to /mnt/udevdisk and both of these things would be possible correct?
  2. So SNAP is depracated? I have no idea. OK, so will this plugin do what I want? It will load these mounts before a VM, so a VM is able to utilize the shares?
  3. I am trying to have 1x2tb disk that is mounted and shared by SNAP outside of the array. I would like to use this device for two things only: 1. To store the ISO file for my Muthbuntu installation 2. To store recordings from Mythtv Is this possible to do? I understand that I need to create a cache only share for vm install points, which I have done. I currently have the ISO file residing also on the cache drive. I would like to move this and the recordings to one outside the array disk. My question is: is this possible? Will the order in which SNAP loads have the share "ready" when a VM starts itself? What is the best practice for using a VM and a SNAP shared device? My plan was to have the first vDisk be a cache only share located at /mnt/cache/vmdata and store the ISO file in /mnt/cache/appdata/ISO and somehow map a share that is on this outside the array disk only to /recordings
  4. Thanks I saw the shutoff button for it. No biggie at all, and I'm sure it's WAY down the line. Thanks anyway.
  5. Upgraded today with a mere click from 6.0b12. Nice work!!! Beautiful! Everything works as expected! One question. Where does the main banner graphic reside? And / or is it possible to change or skin somehow? Just curious, I'm not much of a surfer, but I can think of quite a few other graphics I'd love to insert there.
  6. Awesome, will do. I kind of figured it was either the unRAID ver. or the fact that I installed and possibly pressed a button on the plugin, with an instance already running in screen. I'm in the process of upgrading as we speak. Thanks
  7. I believe this plugin hung my system using unRAID 6.0 b12. I read someone through this forum saying that they installed this during a preclear and it immediately picked up on the screen session instance of preclear_disk.sh and began reporting stats. I performed this same operation, and while the plg installed and did begin to report stats and show up in settings, etc. after another 10 - 15 minutes the unRAID GUI became unresponsive. I could SSH into it, use dockers, it was only the unRAID GUI that was unavailable. After this, I was unable to stop the array through either the GUI not the command line. I'm not sure if this is because of the fact that I installed during an already running preclear, but this was the only other thing changed on my system that could have been causing it to hang, I would think anyway. It's been fine several reboots since, and has not hung at all and the plugin is still installed but not doing any more preclearing at the moment. This system GUI hasn't become unresponsive since I've been on b12 even once until I installed this plugin. I'm in the process right now of rebuilding parity on this new drive, and upgrading to unRAID 6.0 and report back if it still happens to hang. Would it have something to do with the fact that I only have Dynamix ver. 2015.01.21 possibly?
  8. Sweet. And doing it this latter way, will also allow me to still use this drive as a "backup parity disk" just in case still as it is not formatted until the very last step right? Thanks very much sir. Do you think it's worth doing the preclear again? I don't mind doing it if that would be recommended. I just don't know if the stress would be worth it, since it's been working? Or would it? If so, I'd gladly preclear it before re-adding it as a data disk. Thanks again sir.
  9. I know this question has been asked and answered in several different forms, but I can find a definitive answer in my specific case. This is a friend's system, who has a 3TB drive has his parity drive, and it is a fairly new drive and working well, SMART tests are all fine. He came across a new free 4TB drive and wants to add it, thus making it the parity drive. Would the best practice be to: 1. Power down the system and physically connect the new 4TB drive 2. Power up, then stop the array 3. Un-assign the current parity drive completely 4. Assign the precleared 4TB drive as a parity drive, start the array, and allow it to calculate new parity 5. Immediately perform a parity check to ensure the new data has been written correctly and is readable 6. Assign the 3TB drive to an array slot, where I imagine it would be reformatted to XFS, as it was previously ReiserFS and then become usable array storage space. My other question is : if the parity check fails, or something else goes wrong I should technically just be able to yank the new 4TB drive, and re-assign the 3TB back to parity, and pick up exactly where I left off? Of course making backups of the config dir after stopping the array and having all other pertinent info at hand before attempting such a task. Would this be the best practice for this particular procedure and (hopefully not) recovery?
  10. Well, I will find out soon enough and let you know that's kind of why I bought it, because that's what everyone's opinion in the forums was. General opinion was that it worked well. As I don't need any type of crazy read write speeds I was happy getting a sata 2 card, which should be more than adequate for all my media server and general storage purposes. I'll report back when I know. If it's for some reason no longer supported in 6 how difficult is it to add the driver myself? Or is this possibly something that was overlooked and could be re-added if it's indeed confirmed missing from the newer versions ?
  11. I believe I already flashed the card to this newest BIOS right after I received it. At the time I had another system and I just threw it in, and flashed the newer BIOS, and made sure it was in JBOD mode, and no RAID was enabled in the card's BIOS itself. I'll be getting a monitor over here in the next few days and I'll report back. I really hope this card works as it was reported working through the forums. I spent a good deal of time trying to find the best card for my situation. I'll report back after I have a monitor and am able to see if the card is recognized during boot. There are several LED's on the card itself lit, and like I said previously at one point I was in the BIOS so I know the card was working. I have my fingers crossed anyway
  12. Being are there are lit LED's on the controller board itself I know it has power. I shall have to borrow a monitor and report back if I see a BIOS screen for it or or not.
  13. Well that's not promising.... it showed up on another motherboard and I was able to access the BIOS to turn off RAID so I know it works. Would it possibly be that there is no drive plugged into it yet?
  14. do you have any idea what is would be listed as? 15. I don't think I've ever connected a monitor to this server except when I first built it OK. I was just curious. I'll be adding a drive to it sooner or later. As it's on the supported OOTB list on the forums I assume I'll have no issues. Thanks for the quick response.
  16. I have purchased and installed this controller, but have not hooked up any drives to it yet. Nor do I have any lying around I can test with at the time unfortunately. Is there a way via command line or GUI to see if just the controller has been detected and working without drives attached? I have previously attached this device to another computer, and disabled all types of RAID so it should only be using JBOD format.
  17. I think you're exactly right Sparky, there are so many things going on in mythtv's backend, the more I think about it a full VM may just be the way to go.... Correct me if I'm wrong (which I very well may be as I don't know much about dockers) but isn't the point to "try" to get an entire program into one easy to pop up anywhere docker? I understand some dockers work with others like Sonarr works with SAB, but neither of those takes more than one docker working together to make just it work on it's own. Am I wrong in this assumption or are a lot of unRAID dockers, or just dockers in general usually designed this way? I think I just need a new processor and some more RAM to accommodate this KVM Mythbuntu VM and the dockers I'm already running. Do you guys think I'd have any issues with the system in my sig, but with a AMD A10-6800K Quad-Core APU Richland Processor 4.1GHz and 32GB of ram running a KVM Mythbuntu VM and dockers of Sonarr, Couchpotato, SABNzbd, and Plex (possibly up to 3 or 4 streams) ? I don't have much experience with KVM through unRAID, although from everything I've read people seem to like it very much.
  18. I use an HDHR and would require no media build or any tuners being passed. My dilemna is that I also use schedulesdirect. And to my understanding atm, the docker for tvheadend doesn't handle schedulesdirect grabbing very well. I'd love to use this in a docker as I imagine it would be less resource intense. Although if I have to upgrade my CPU to something with more cores and faster speed, nd a larger amount of ram and do a full blown KVM mythbuntu, then so be it. I am just wondering what my best option would be to eliminate the optiplex I have doing mythtv now. I'm open to whatever can combine both my NAS and PVR. Preferably keeping mythtv as it's EPG and recording handling work absolutely flawlessly with the Kodiu Add-Ons.
  19. So I'm reading this correctly then? Someone IS going to try to make a mythtv docker and I don't have to run a full blown VM? Or am I honestly just better doing a Mythbuntu instance in KVM?
  20. I've been messing around with this idea as I also use schedulesdirect. Do you find it's very resource intensive to run it in an mythbuntu VM? I really wish there was an unraid docker for mythtv as it's what I use already and I love it. I've seen this: https://registry.hub.docker.com/u/jdef/mythtv/ although I don't know if could be forked or adapted.
  21. Thanks so much for this docker BTW, nice work! Ive been dying to find a way to migrate my separate mythtv box into unRAID as it will eliminate an entire computer for me. So wg++ is always going to be extremely slow when grabbing from schedulesdirect? I haven't gotten that far yet, but I use schedulesdirect, and still have another 11 months left in my subscription so I'd like to use it if I can. That's kind of a bummer if it doesn't work, but as long as it's done in the middle of the night or something I guess it's fine. I have around 150 channels. Mythtv seemed to do this in no time at all. Also have a question for you saarg. My plan is to add a 1TB HDD outside of the array for use for recordings (and transcoding if possible and it makes sense) as I don't want them stored on the array for a few different reasons, the primary one being performance and the possibility of spinning up multiple drives etc. So if I add another 1TB HDD, but do not add it to the array, what would be the best filesystem etc. to format this drive? Should I just use XFS ? Or should I try to use some type of ext format that the docker uses inside? Then also, in the parameters for the docker paths to mount, should I just add /recordings as /mnt/disk# ?
  22. Filebot plugin keeps giving me errors. Am I missing something? I just am supposed to be using this from the command line after installing the plugin right? I keep getting errors in my --format string when trying to run command via filebot-cli style. Is there a gui I'm missing maybe or could someone tell me why this command works on filebot-cli on another linux box but not with this plugin: filebot -rename "/mnt/cache/appdata/sabnzbd/config/Downloads/complete" --format "{n.space('.'}.{'s'+s.pad(2)}e{e.pad(2)}.{vf}.{source}.{vc}.{ac}" --db TheTVDB I keep getting back: /bin/bash: -c: line 0: syntax error near unexpected token `(' /bin/bash: -c: line 0: `. /usr/local/PhAzE-Common/Filebot/startcfg.sh; /mnt/cache/appdata/filebot//filebot.sh --format {n.space('.'}.{'s'+s.pad(2)}e{e.pad(2)}.{vf}.{source}.{vc}.{ac} --db TheTVDB' I'm sure this is something wrong on my end, but I can't seem to wrap my head around it...
  23. LOL If you've noticed the chat window, there's always a few mods in there to help. Introduce yourself and say hello
  24. I'm not saying it's not possible, because it most certainly is. However, I have tried passing the exact same NZB url to SAB and get no error...... I wish I had a better way of testing this.
