  1. @trurl Ah ok, so I presume with this information monthly if not greater would be acceptable for parity then moving forward. Full Diagnostic attached. unraid-diagnostics-20210329-1858.zip
  2. So I have the current scenario and before I go messing with anything was hoping for some advice please. Last parity check got stuck at 3.4% after 16hours due to a disk with errors (can hear it clicking away). Disk still green and no failure notice as yet. As a result I had to cancel the latest parity check (28/3/21) however I run parity checks weekly and the one before this was successful (21/3/21) What is the best way to replace this disk? If you cancel a parity check does it revert to the last fully complete one? Many thanks
  3. This is the extended SMART test. WDC_WD4000F9YZ-09N20L0_WD-WMC1F1432192-20210117-1244.txt
  4. Morning Just had a disk throw up some errors, however when added and pre-cleared was all ok. Parity check completed last night also says no errors. Don't really understand how to read/what to look for on the disk diag and what has caused this issue. Any support greatly appriciated. Thanks unraid-diagnostics-20210117-0942.zip

  9. Am really hoping someone is able to offer some help here as stuck. So my parity disk (3TB) failed and disabled itself. I have purchased a new 3TB drive to replace it with. However now when i assign my new parity it will not let me rebuild and has message 'parity disk is not biggest'. Have found the hpa issue but not sure if this is whats affecting mine? Have added some screenshots to hopefully help identify the issue. Support greatly appreciated.
  10. Hi, Yes i have switched from bridge to host, i updated the docker. Should i try installing from scratch?? I know the muxes and have the .m3u file which i can open to view the individual streams. How do i add?? Thanks
  11. Anyone got an idiots guide to setting up IPTV on TVHeadend?? Am struggling to get IPTV working and am fairly tech savy.
  12. Thank you for the replys, so just to confirm i need host mode? It did install once i set the recording dir, however now when i try to add IPTV channels when it scans them it come up with FAIL. is this because i didn't choose host mode or something else?
  13. Can get this installed, sure it is something basic, can anyone help?? Just want to use it for IPTV
  14. Hi Anyone looked into making a docker image for this: https://github.com/nfarina/homebridge Would be good to run on unRAID
  15. Was looking at Noctua NF-P12 fans for the 120mm, are these a good alternative? Currently have my server to spin down disks when not in use so hopefully this will reduce the temperature. Does your 650W handle all 20 drives? Mine will be standard 3.5' HDD's running at 7200rpm, when i read a PSU thread i worked out i would need 850 minimum. Would be interested if it could go lower as will then save some power
  16. Don't suppose you have some photos of the backplate and fan rail that I could have a look at? What version is the case? Thanks
  17. Interested in the case how much for postage? Postcode ct216qu
  18. Thanks Chungiak Interesting about the CPU as I didn't have any intention of over locking it so will look at the cheaper chip. They seem to have removed non-pro link as it is getting a refresh ready for August (had previously emailed them), this is the link to the pro main difference is quality of fans and they can be controlled. It also has SGPIO. http://www.xcase.co.uk/4u-rackmount-server-cases/x-case-rm-424-pro-24-bay-hotswap-6gb-sgpio-backplane-single-or-redundant-psu-s-425-00-x-case.html PSU is a good call as you say much better reviews and can save some money Will consider 16gb if I can find a good deal. My N54L only has 4gb and works flawlessly which is why I only went for 8gb.
  19. Hi, So i've been using a HP N54L and unRAID for a few years now and been extremely happy with this set up. However as my media collection expands my available space is running low, with it already having 3TB drives installed rather than replace them i quite fancy having a look at building a 24 bay setup. My primary uses are Plex and Time Machine. Plex does not transcode very often but i would like it to support about 3 streams all at once. The server will be placed in my spare room so noise needs to be taken into account and i would like to future proof it to a degree. It also needs a low power consumption. The initial build will include 4x3TB, 4x2TB, 1x1TB (TimeMachine) and 1x250GB (Cache). All of these drives i already have. This is what i am currently looking at purchasing: - X-Case 424 (Mini-SAS backplate, not interesting in the Pro version but will look at replacing 120mm fans to reduce noise, any suggestions?) - Intel i5 4690K 3.50GHz - ASRock Z87 Extreme 6 (10 x Sata III ports, looking for a MB with dual NIC, PCI expansion and internal USB if possible, any alternative ideas?) - Corsair RM 850W Fully Modular 80+ Gold Power Supply (will this be sufficient to power everything? can i go down to a 750W?) - 2 x 4GB RAM One big thing playing on my mind is how to get all 24 caddies hooked up. Initially i would only be using 10 but would like to get it sorted in my head. - Are there any disadvantages for connecting drives to MB using a reverse breakout cable? - Was looking at a SUPERMICRO AOC-SASLP-MV8 for control cards, is this the best value for money? - Really dumb question but do the controller cards need RAID of does unRAID sort all of this out for you? - Is it better to spend out on a MB with lots of SATA's or buy more controllers? Your comments and criticisms will be gratefully received. Thank you in advance. Alex
  20. Ok I'm trying to get access to the UPS network configure via a web browser so that I can get it set up. I am entering the commands in a Mac OS terminal window. I'm using last version of Google chrome. Thank you, using sudo it has now accepted the command and shows up when running arp -a
  21. Am using a stock BT Home Hub 4. Tried entering that command and i receive this: -bash-3.2$ arp -s 192.168.3.81 00-c0-b7-cb-0e-e8 arp: invalid Ethernet address '00-c0-b7-cb-0e-e8'
