  1. Hmmm, maybe I'll try that again. It didn't work yesterday when I tried it. Although I have binhex-deluge up and working, so there's not much motivation. Especially after reading through this thread and seeing the same issue being asked about for FOUR years. Thanks.
  2. Is there an updated resolution or workaround for the username/password issue? I just installed qbittorrent because rutorrent is deprecated and no longer runs on 6.12.4. I don't use or need a VPN for my torrent client, so I thought this would be a suitable replacement. But I can't login in at the WebUI. I've tried admin/adminadmin, reinstalled, used FF, Chrome and Edge. Nothing seems to work and I always get "Invalid Username or Password". Any help? Thanks, Jim
  3. Thanks to both @Frank1940 and @trurl for these tips/reminders. I successfully upgraded from 6.9.2 to 6.11.5 without issue. I have a fairly simple config - no VMs, for example - but was still a bit concerned making a couple of version jumps. Cheers!
  4. Thanks @wgstarks! That was exactly the issue I ran into, and this cleared it up. Cheers.
  5. Setting SMB to v1 seems to have fixed the issue. Not really sure what got changed or how (shrug). And thanks Frank1940, I will look at that thread. Some of my own research did turn up that it's a bit of a mess. I'll see if I can unravel it a bit. And this was with Win10 Home (1809), on my desktop PC; as mentioned the laptop also with Win10 Home (1809) was fine/unaffected - plus several Android devices. So I focused on the desktop. Thanks everybody that responded, really appreciate it.
  6. Another bit of info to add: I just started my Win10 laptop and it can still access the server via File Explorer using \\SLEEPERSERVICE. I was able to drill down into the folders and open a document, so the server side seems OK. I guess something got messed up in the desktop PC. Also, I added the server to the hosts file on the desktop, but it didn't seem to make a difference. Would still appreciate any thoughts anyone has.
  7. Thanks johnnie.black. Those are both good things to know, neither of which I had thought of or knew.
  8. Previously, I've been able to access my unraid server in Windows 10 file explorer using the server's name (SleeperService). Now I can't, but I can access via it's IP address. Earlier I had wanted to set up a way to access the server via Windows file explorer but not have files being copied/moved come to the PC as an intermediary, so I attempted to set up a root share using gridrunner's video here: but I was wanting to access my unassigned disk. After setting up the SMB Extras and a new user per the video I realized that this probably wouldn't do what I wanted so I undid all the changes (I thought). I then installed the Dolphin docker and was able to copy/move files on my unassigned disk quicker. That's when I realized I couldn't access the server from the PC using it's name. I have a flash backup from last month so reverted back to earlier files for any that had changed today (mainly a few files in "config"). Still can't access using the server name. When I try to access the UA disk "\\SleeperService\appdisk" Windows Network Diagnostics says "Verify the permission settings on "appdisk". You don't have permission to access the share." The "valid users" and "write list" entries in SMB Extras have been removed as has the user that they referenced. I'm stuck as to what the issue might be. I know it's a minor thing - I can still access the server - but I would like to get things back to the way they were before. Thanks, Jim Edit: I have also rebooted the server twice and the PC once, FYI.
  9. I just ran into the same problem, and reinstall worked for me as well. Thanks Fredrick and Delarius!
  10. Just a quick update: ASRock sent me both the older 2.00 BIOS chip plus a new 3.50 one. Both chips work - unRAID booted with both. So now I have the current BIOS and the home NAS is back up and running. Huge thanks to ASRock customer service. They worked with me via email and phone calls over several days and eventually got me back up and running.
  11. Hi All, I'm hoping someone can help. I'm currently running 6.5.3 on an Asrock E3C226D2I motherboard - running just fine for the last 4 years. Prior to going to 6.6.0 I wanted to update the BIOS to address the Spectre and Meltdown issues (BIOS was available and I finally had some time). I updated the BMC first, and unRAID still booted. Then updated the BIOS and I can no longer boot unRaid. It gets past the BIOS setup screen but then there's just a blinking cursor, as if it can't find the boot drive. I've tried several different USB ports - front and back. I've made the changes to BIOS and EFI folder naming as mentioned here: All to no avail. And apparently once upgraded to BIOS 3.50 I can't revert back to the earlier 2.00 version, according to the Asrock website. That was my next step. I am in contact with Asrock customer service but wanted to see if anyone here had any ideas. Thanks, Jim Update: Nothing I did seemed to work, including trying to boot to DOS on a USB drive, so Asrock is sending me a BIOS chip pre-programmed with the older 2.00 BIOS. Hopefully that should get me back up and running.
  12. I just installed rclone as I get ready to transition away from CrashPlan. It's working great so far, connecting to Backblaze B2. I did notice a minor GUI issue however; the icon on the Settings page seems to be a default icon rather than the rclone one. The icon is correct on the Plugins page. I saw there was an issue a while ago with the icon size, but since I installed rclone a couple of weeks ago I'm not sure if that's the issue. I have restarted my browser (Firefox) a couple of times since the install (browser & PC updates) with no change. I'm running unRAID 6.4.1. Thanks for your help, Jim
  13. Similar to other users, the CrashPlan docker was a big reason for me using unRAID. I'm really disappointed by this news. I guess I'll have to keep my eye on the forums and see what becomes available as a replacement. Also, I'll add my thanks to @gfjardim for their work on this docker. It's been reliable as a backup solution should be. Thanks!
  14. Thanks for that! I've bookmarked it and will return to it once I'm ready - disk are preclearing now. At a minimum I plan to install Plex to get me started. Cheers! Jim
  15. Just a bit too late - I just got the hardware built this morning and am just working my way through the Configuration Tutorial (next up: preclearing the disks). Both are nice cases - I'm impressed with the build quality of the 304. The 304 suits my needs both in terms of the number of drives I'll be using but also in terms of overall size. It fits perfectly in the shelf below the printer. I appreciate the feedback.
  16. Thanks for the feedback gundamguy!
  17. Well, since no replies I'll assume there's at least no glaring problems. I did do a bit more reading/investigating and will probably downgrade the CPU to a E3-1220v3. $50 cheaper than the 1230v3 and seems like it'll be sufficient for my needs. Probably order parts today - never know how long the Newegg Instant Savings will last. Cheers, Jim
  18. Hi all, I'm looking at building my very first server/NAS box. I'm familiar with regular desktop PC builds (just completed my 4th? over the holidays), but servers are new territory. Been trying to do a lot of reading here to get an idea for current parts info. The server will provide: - general mass storage (~1TB of race car in-car video) - local backup for 2-3 PCs (currently running Crashplan cloud & local) - BitTorrent and Plex server for 1, maybe 2, streams Basically, this server will be replacing 4 external eSATA disks attached to my desktop PC. They started out just being external mass storage, but now evolved to be a "pseudo-server" with the other PCs backing up to it. Plus there seems to be some issue with the eSATA cards in the new PC that I can't seem to resolve. The race video is just simply stored there, any editing I do would be done on the desktop and then moved to the server. I currently use BT & Plex from my desktop; moving that to the server makes sense. Modest budget, but with good quality parts, and the possibility for a bit of expansion. So, here's what I'm looking at (I had started by looking at FreeNAS, but then came across unRAID which seems better suited to my needs): Case: Fractal Design Node 304 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352027 M/B: ASRock E3C226D2I http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157466 CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1230V3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116906 Power Supply: SILVERSTONE SFX ST30SF 300W http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817256097 RAM: Crucial 16GB kit, ECC, 1.35V http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/e3c226d2i/CT5007654 HDDs: 3xWD 3TB Reds (2-data, 1-parity) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236344 This seems like a good starting point for me (maybe CPU overkill?). It gives me another ~5TB of free space once I migrate the existing stuff plus with room in the case to add drives. The 1TB was accumulated over several years, so this should be sufficient for a while. Thanks everybody. Jim
