  1. I'd use it if i understood what it's there for. As i dont so far, i wont. Thanks anyway, you tried your best. Must be me ... Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  2. So are you saying its not really worth enabling it, it doesnt offer any real benefit? Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  3. Ok, as you keep saying. But for those people running deluge, not binhexs vpn enabled version, how do they use privoxy? Or do they not bother? I'm trying to follow SIO's videos, and very informative they have been so far, but this whole privoxy thing is a strange way of doing things within a client container IF it's not even necessary to the application itself. Would make more sense for it to gave been in sonarr or radarr containers surely? Keep this going please because i'm getting a lot from it. Total novice but to date i now have openvpn, vpn and all usenet apps working after a fashion. Understanding how and why privoxy is/is not needed would be the icing on the cake! Until the next question [emoji2] Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  4. Sorry guys but i have to give up on this one. Just cant understand why there'd be a privoxy option if its not going to be utilised. Vpn i understand and seems to be working ok but surely its deluge that uses yhe privoxy as well as external apps? Would i better just running a standalone instance of privoxy and switching it off in both deluge and sab then? One more docker overhead i suppose ... Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  5. I just dont see how delugevpn can be utilising privoxy if i dont have it pointing to it through port 8118 in the docker. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  6. So what 'protects' deluge if i choose to keep it running? I think my problem here is conceptual and maybe just an open privoxy through which anything and everything runs against would be an easier way to appreciate whats being offerred up. I'm going to remove delugevpn as i cant get my head around it being left 'open' without an instance of privoxy behind it on my system. Everything else i see hanging together, vpn is running aok and privoxy is handling the other bits that i 'think' it should. Now i just need to make it do something ...Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  7. Ok but i still dont understand why both delugevpn AND sabbzbdvpn have privoxy options to enable? Is the privoxy just there to hook other apps to or is it there to protect deluge and sab? Must admit i thought thr latter and that as a further benefit the likes of sonarr and radarr etc could also piggyback. Am i wrong in thinking that privoxy primarily protects my torrents or usenet access from ads etc. Surely both will need to be privoxied? I think i'll just remove delugevpn and be done with it. Most probably not that interested in torrenting, too much hassle. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  8. You sure? If so, then that just confirms that i need to give up on all of this sab, deluge, sonarr, radarr docker stuff and get back on the desktop. My understanding was that, if used, then privoxy could accomodate all traffic. Both delugevpn and sabnzbdvpn have a privoxy option to do this. Are you saying that they dont need to be used and that privoxy would handle any torrent/usent traffic automatically? The vpn side of things is working just fine, i dont see the link between it and my vpn. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  9. Port mappings are as per original. As i say thw only change i tried was to move one of the containers to use privoxy on 8119 instead of 8118 to avoid clash. I'll see if i can grab a screenshot ... Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  10. I think the problem lies with Privoxy in a way that i dont understand. Changing either container to another port to avoid clashing doesnt work. The changed server wont start. It seems that i need some way of keeping the privoxy channel up and running to multiple users of port 8118? Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  11. Mapping to another port doesnt seem to work. If the other instance is running, eg delugevpn, then sab wont start on another port than 8118 and vice versa, i've tried. Problem seems to be multiple instances using the same port which seems wrong anyway. I can gave EITHER sab or deluge using vpn on privoxy (which appears to be the underlying problem) port 8118 but not both. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  12. Both instances use port 8118 as vpn port though. That appears to be the problem. Closing the first app, in this case delugevpn terminates the vpn it seems and my sabnzbdvpn connection goes down? Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  13. Trurl ... you were right! I'm slowly getting my head around these dockers. Anyone any idea why i cant run two vpn based instances together? And, was i right to change port numbers on sab or not? I'm no expert in any of this but it seems that unless my port 8118 is up and running via deluge then i cant use my pia vpn standalone with sab using the alternative port 8119. So, if both are running, no probs on either. Shutdown delugevpn and it takes sab (now on port 8119) with it. Looks like my vpn instance is being terminated by delugevpn, presumably because port 8118 is no longer available. Make sense? Not to me unfortunately. Maybe i should close this question down and move it to binhex for support?? Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  14. Just what i needed, thanks! I've now installed sabnzbdvpn and delugevpn but my downloads are still going to the /config folders in /mnt/user/appdata and not the /data folders i'd expect /mnt/user/downloads even though i 'think' i've followed the video to the letter ... I watched and used SIO's youtube videos which alongwith the info here helped me a lot! I've checked the docker configs and they look as if they're set up ok. Where else can i look, somethings obviously not quite right? One more thing ... i'm using PIA as vpn provider and seem unable to run both instances of delugevpn and sabnzbdvpn together? One, on startup, pulls down the other it seems. I needed to change port number 8118 to 8121 on sab as it conflicted with deluge just to get sab to run but now as i say both instances dont appear able to coexist ... have i done this in the right way or should i be looking elsewhere? 15. Ok guys, i'm getting there. I've unshared my disk shares which left me with just user shares visible. I still have to get my head around the concept of mount points. So, when a docker quotes 'config' its usually pointing to mnt/user/appdata? When it quotes anything else its usually mnt/user/xxxxx? Problem i have are those dockets which dont include the /user elent and just quote /mnt/data or /mnt/download. Are these an older version of the docker where we (unraid) now use /user to indicate where is best practice to place our containers? I know, i'll go away soon and just have a play around but its better i understand it first or i'll just let it go. Thanks for all the input so far. Rorton... nzb or sab is first to install, then whats best order to avoid having to undo/redo configs? Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  16. Anything anywhere to explain what a 'user share' actually is? Are all docker mount points aimed at user shares? U'm confused over where 'config" and 'data' live. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  17. Right .. have had a quick look and some if thise videos look promising but its the mount points that i'm not clear on. Think i said disk and user shares earlier, i meant mount points now that i've checked out a couple of vids ... Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks all, i'll follow them up. Any advice on the order in which its best to install as they all seem to be dependent on each other existing ahead of one another if that makes sense. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  19. Hi ... is there anything out there to explain disk or share mappings to me? I'm trying to set up a general htpc type setup including sab, nzb, deluge, openvpn etc that kind of thing but am having lots of trouble installing dockers to their right folders. There seems to be little consistency or explanation. A major problem i'm having is which order to onstall the dockers in as they appear to have dependencies on each other existing. Anyone able to help before i go nuts!! Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks, now sorted and at 6.4.1, my bad, dns server address has gone awol [emoji31] Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  21. Hi .. just powered up an unused 6.2.4 version of unRaid with the intention of upping it to 6.4.1 Looked at bringing plugins into step and then to upgrade via plugin screen but nothing seems to be working via that screen. I get offered no updates at all yet most ARE. out of date as i know. All other aspects of the server are fine, i can access via webgui so no probs there. Seems to be an issue with it trying to identify what needs updating when the version itself is an older one. Whats best way to get it to 6.4.1 quickly? I am not being offerred an upsate to server release via the plugin screen, did that option come along later than 6.2.4? Any help appreciated. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  22. Does dynamix system stats cover these? Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  23. I agree .. so much better these days. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  24. Got it now! Geez ... this is bad and seems to be controllable in the short term by allowing existing trusted users to 'mop up' until a more permanent fix is found. Give me a bad flag ability and i'm more than happy to be able to wipe this type of stuff when it gets in the way! UK based. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
