  1. OK, so here's a fun one. It won't recognized my 5TB seagate drive....It did when it first came up and now it will not....
  2. It was, I tried resetting it multiple times, switching between EFI and BIOS options, reboot several times, re-ran the make bootable and tried it again. Ended up saying ef it and wrote 6.4rc9f onto it and I'll be rebuilding from scratch.
  3. Did I burn out my thumb drive? I can see all the files are there, but it WILL NOT boot. Running: 6.3.5 16GB DDR3 ECC unbuffered Tyan S5512 E3-1275 Boot device is/was a SanDisk Cruzer Fit 3.0 - 16GB I've re-run the make bootable file and see no recent logs (why does unraid not log to the thumbdrive with a retention time period?)
  4. Still no idea what my issue is, I'm going to move the server to a different router and see if that helps.
  5. I moved the server off a down stream Ubiquiti switch to the 4 port switch in the back of the asus rt56R.
  6. I would suggest that you provide a detailed description of exactly what the issues are. The system does periodic buffering while streaming videos on the local network. I can also see SABNZBD slowing it's download speed to a crawl, then resuming it's regular speed after a few minutes. This seems to affect the system as a whole. What are you (or the server) doing at the time when it happens? Plex, sabnzbd How you know what is happening? Watching cAdvisor and Sabnzdb Have you rebooted every device on your LAN (routers, switches, etc.)? Everything, many times. I even downgraded my router firmware to that from back in July (AsusMerlin 380_67.0.) Main Router syslog.txt BackEnd router syslog.txt
  7. I'm running into an issue where my network connection is slowing down intermittently. This started about a week ago and I ave no idea where this is coming from. Please help unraid1-diagnostics-20171001-2213.zip
  8. I did a full restore and that fixed the issue. Sorry for the delay on responding, life has been....busy.
  9. I logged in today and found, for some bizarre reason, I'm unable to modify my dock containers. I've tried a reboot to no avail. Please see attached for more information. unraid1-diagnostics-20170601-1102.zip
  10. Sorry about the lack of details, here is a reddit thread that I followed to no avail at the bottom is a .7z of the docker folder binhex-plex.7z
  11. I cannot get any plex docker to run as a media server. When it starts it runs as if it's a client, not a server. If I install the windows version I can set that up on my laptop, but in no way can I get any one of the docker containers to run as a server. Seems to come up as if its a client device instead.
  12. Drives show up empty and virtually nothing is there. Anythoughts? I'm going to see if the partitions are shot and can be recovered, but this really isn't looking good....
  13. AS it says, I replaced a failed cache drive (shut down the array, power off system, insert new drive, power on system, start array) and dock CLAIMS it's on, but the page is empty and I can't get to my docker images. I can see them in the cache pool though. unraid1-diagnostics-20170517-1830.zip
  14. So I have 5 disks in my array currently, 4 of which show up in shares page. But disk 4 does not. Tried stopping the array, not sure what to do from here. unraid1-syslog-20170429-0958.zip unraid1-diagnostics-20170429-0957.zip
  15. Ended up RMA'ing the drive., put a replacement (I had one on hand) in and it's buring at 189MB/s (same drive model)
  16. As it says preclear is slow at 9.6MB/s, pre-read was 120MB/s. My experience is these disks run much closer to 180-205MB/s. ############################################################################################################################ # # # unRAID Server Preclear of disk X6MGK0E4F57D # # Cycle 1 of 1, partition start on sector 64. # # # # # # Step 1 of 5 - Pre-read verification: [11:30:16 @ 120 MB/s] SUCCESS # # Step 2 of 5 - Zeroing in progress: (1% Done) # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # ** Time elapsed: 1:27:54 | Write speed: 9.6 MB/s | Average speed: 9 MB/s # # # ############################################################################################################################ # Cycle elapsed time: 12:58:12 | Total elapsed time: 12:58:13 # ############################################################################################################################ ############################################################################################################################ # # # S.M.A.R.T. 17. Here is a screen shot of the failed drive and it's smart report. And the total DIAG report. unraid1-smart-20170411-1518.zip unraid1-diagnostics-20170411-1519.zip
  18. Will do. Now I know for next time. Just a quick question, why doesn't the system do a dump to a DIAG share or something when a disk fails out?
  19. It's shut down until I replace the cable later today, I don't want to risk any more disks failing right now. That would be a huge PITA.
  20. So I have a Drive that has been marked as failed by the array due to the ' UltraDMA CRC Error Count ' number being high. Think is this drive is coneected back to an IBM branded LSI 9211-8i. On that card I have 8 drive attached, the other three drives on that cable ALSO have controller errors. This leads me to believe it's the cable, not the drive as I doubt all 4 drives would have the same problem at the same time, given that two are SSD's of different sizes and batches and the two disk drives were purchased a year apart. So, how do I pull the drive back into the array, I'd hate to waste the drive if I don't have to. Yes I could warranty it out, but that seems so....wasteful.
  21. Ended up building a parity pool and resetting the data drives to pull the SSD out and moved everything to cache.
  22. So how would you recommend I accomplish my goal? I'm not running the SSD for speed, but for power savings (granted its about 5 watts vs 20, but still.)
  23. Sure there is. Unraid isn't generic linux software raid, the raid part is custom written, so multiple software raids would need some rewriting of unraid. Not a simple undertaking, considering the rewrite would be mucking about with what makes unraid different. If you want to set up multiple software raid pools in a generic linux installation, it is very simple. The point I was trying to make was that the ability to make multiple raid goups using software raid already exists in Linux, so if Unraid leverages that the POSSIBILITY has to exist, even if its a feature in 7.0 or something. See below for WHY I'm requesting this.
