  1. ah ok I think I misunderstood this feature then. I deinstalled from the dashboard tab. thank you
  2. sounds good. graphics card not installed yet. Right now I can choose between -Intel Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor HD Audio Controller -Intel 9 Series Chipset Family HD Audio Controller which one do I have to choose here?
  3. For me its not doing so it seems. Just deinstalled a conntainer (image + container) from the webgui that has /config as volume and is mapped to /mnt/cache/appdata/... The appdata folder is still there. Updated to latest CA 2016.03.28a before.
  4. Hi, while deleting some docker containers I wanted to set up from scratch again I noticed that CA did not delete the appropriate appdata folders. Some time ago there was an option for CA where the appdata location could be specified (which I did), this is gone aswell for me. So my question, was this feature removed or is this a bug somehow?
  5. Hi, I'm about to set up my very first VM using OE. I just purchased a Geforce GT720 for video passthrough but will not be able to use HDMI audio at the moment because I use a soundbar which only has one optical input left. So my question is, can I assign onboard audio to my VM so that I will be able to passthrough audio over spdif and video over the gt720? Hope someone can clear me up here.
  6. Hi, just tried installing the container and everything worked out at first. I checked the tontainer logs using telnet and got the token and serveradmin password etc. But when I take the container down and start it again I can't connect to my teamspeak server anymore. When I open a telnet session it says "network problem: connection refused". I have to reinstall the container to make it work again. Any ideas? update: I don't know why but today it works again even after restarting... No idea what was causing that
  7. I just noticed that the smb issue is solved somehow since the last updates (at least for me). I didn't change anything and my Server appears now in the Windows 10 network area.
  8. Hi, I just switched to Win 10 myself and came across the issue described in this thread. I tried the solution with the registry but it does not help. I also disabled any firewall settings. Is there anything new to this issue? Does someone has a found a different solution maybe.
  9. Hi, last night I got an email notification (I think it happened while parity check was running) with the following: cron for user root /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/scripts/statuscheck &> /dev/null /bin/sh: line 1: 32659 Bus error /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/scripts/statuscheck &>/dev/null Can someone clear me up please what this means? can't really figure it out by the system log. The parity check finished with 0 errors by the way. Thanks in advance.
  10. thanks bonienl, everything is working now Just to unterstand, what's the difference between the original command line and yours?
  11. okay, thank you its working. But where do I have to put the command to call the spinup function? /usr/bin/wget -q -O - localhost/update.htm?cmdSpinupAll=true >/dev/null Can I just Telnet it or do I have to change some config file on my flash drive manually? I'm a complete noob, sorry... Happy new year btw
  12. yes I tried again and the typing was correct. Any idea how I can solve this problem?
  13. Hi, I think I have a similar problem: I use the Dynamix S3 Sleep plugin aswell on unraid 6.1.6 and the execute function works, but somehow only for the first time these are my settings: - Wait for array inactivity: yes - Extra delay after array inactivity: 15 - Wait for network inactivity: no - Wait for user login inactivity: local - Set WOL options before sleep: g when the drives are in standby after 15 more minutes the server goes to s3 state. But the next time when the server wakes up the drives are still in standby and the server only goes to sleep again when I first spin up the drives. So where do I have to put the command lines described above to spin up my drives after wake up? I am very new to unraid and have no idea. Another problem I have is that when i Telnet my server with "echo 3 >/proc/acpi/sleep" (this command is described in the wiki of the plugin) it returns "-bash: /proc/acpi/sleep: No such file or directory" What does this mean? Hope someone can clear me up. Thank you!
  14. Hi, I am pretty new to unraid and just got my first server up with v6.1.6 trying to get the S3 Sleep Plugin working. I am able to set my server asleep with the button under the array operations page. I followed the Wiki here: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=Setup_Sleep_(S3)_and_Wake_on_Lan_(WOL) and the batch file to wake the server works fine. Unfortunately the command "echo 3 >/proc/acpi/sleep" does not work and returns "-bash: /proc/acpi/sleep: No such file or directory" What does this mean? The execute function works, but somehow only for the first time these are my settings: - Wait for array inactivity: yes - Extra delay after array inactivity: 15 - Wait for network inactivity: no - Wait for user login inactivity: local - Set WOL options before sleep: g when the drives are in standby after 15 more minutes the server goes to s3 state. But the next time when the server wakes up the drives are still in standby and the server only goes to sleep again when I first spin up the drives. Is this the normal behavior? I am not sure if I need to make any further adjustments as described in the Wiki (e.g. generating a sleep script) as I thought that this would already be covered by installing the plugin through the link of the Dynamix - V6 Plugins thread. Hope someone can clear me up. Thank you!

  16. Thanks for the replies everyone. But after thinking about GPU passthrough I still can't decide wether I need it or not. This is why I made two lists. Build 1: Low Power vt-x only, no need for GPU Case: Lian Li PC-Q25B PSU: SilverStone ST30SF 300W SFX MB: Asus H87I-Plus CPU: Intel Core i3-4130T RAM: 2x G.Skill DDR3L 1600 DIMM 4096MB F3-12800CL8D-8GBECO (I'm not sure if the MB supports DDR3L) Otherweise: 2x G.Skill DDR3 1600 DIMM 4096MB F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL Drives: 2x WD Red WD40EFRX 4TB SATA 6Gb/s Flash Drive: SanDisk 8GB Cruzer Fit USB 2.0 Flash Drive CPU Cooler: be quiet! Shadow Rock LP Topblow Intake Fan: be quiet! Silent Wings 2 PWM 140x140x25mm Exhaust Fan: be quiet! Silent Wings 2 PWM 120x120x25mm USB-Adapter: DELOCK MBz USB Pinheader Bu > 2x USB2.0-A Bu Y-Cable: Noctua NA-SYC1 SATA Cables: Wentronic HDD SATA 6Gbs/s (L-Type - L-Type 90) 0,5m Build 2: Possibility to use GPU passthrough later on If I decide this way, I'd just swap PSU and CPU for: PSU: SilverStone ST45SF 450W SFX CPU: Intel Core i5-4570T Hopefully someone can confirm if everything will work out this way or if I made a bad mistake somewhere. And another question (just to be sure): Would you recommend to wire all six SATA ports right off and just disable the unsued slots in the Bios or should it be possible to wire additional HDDs later on without a problem!?
  17. thanks for the replies. That helped me already. There are a few other things that came up to me while getting more into virtual machines, though. Right now I have a HTPC with three internal (old) drives with all of my media. Although I have Kodi set up on it, I watch and record tv over my Samsung Smart TV which is connected to an external HDD where it stores all the recordings. So what I wanted to do with the unraid server is getting rid of the drives in my HTPC and move the media to the server, of course. But when I build an unraid server which is capable of vt-x/vt-d and add a gpu to it, will it also be possible to start a Windows VM from it with Kodi installed which starts automatically right after unraid booted? And will it be possible to not only passtrough the gpu but also a tv tuner adapter so that I can watch and record tv over the unraid server's VM? In addition, would it be possible to assign a non-array, non-cache HDD to the VM which can be used for timeshift and tv recordings? Is this the way it works? Because I'm thinking of getting rid of my HTPC then completely. When I should do all of this, is the PC-Q25 still the right case, because I could not find a mini-ITX mainboard with enough PCIe and SATA slots for this purpose. Thanks in advance.
  18. OK, thank you started my own thread in the hardware section over here http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=43670.0
  19. Hi everyone, I follow this forum for quiet some time now and am about to build my very first (unraid) server. I really like the PC-Q25 and so I looked into different threads with this case. I mainly want to use it as NAS (HD/4K-streaming to my Kodi HTPC) and also want to install some dockers I think. Maybe in the future I want to make use of virtual machines but I don't think that I will install a graphics card so IOMMU isn't a topic for me if I understand this correct. Last but not least I want to be sure that it is future-proof. Well I still have some questions on the components and I hope some of the experts in here can clear me up. At first I wanted to use desktop components but after reading into ECC I decided to go for server hardware only. Case: Lian Li PC-Q25 Black Hot Swap Mini Tower Case Board: ASRock E3C224D4I-14S I don't know if the single PCIe 3.0 x8 slot is enough and it is important to stick to a specific order concerning the SATA and SAS2 ports? Another question on the board: what kind of internally mounted usb 3.0 port adapter would you recommend? CPU: I want to use an Intel Xeon E3 v3 but as I just have experience in building desktop PCs I don't really know where to start here. If I understand this correct for my needs VT-x support would be enough, right? RAM: I would order 16GB of ADATA ADDE1600W8G11-BMID or innodisk M3C0-8GSS3LPC as suggested in the ASRock QVL - is this okay? Another question I have is for how many HDD-Drives 16GB of DDR3 RAM in total is enough? Is there a rule of thumb maybe? PSU: Silverstone ST45SF 450W SFX Is 450W enough even when I use a full setup of HDD drives and maybe SSD-Cache drives? Disk: 2x 4TB WD Red (1 data, 1 parity) Can I use these even when its not listed in the ASRock QVL? Would you suggest using the SATA cables coming with the drives or should I order different cables? Cache: I won't use a cache drive at first, but definitely sometime in the near future USB: Cruzer Fit (8GB) Is USB 3.0 a topic or is 2.0 enough? Is there maybe another USB-stick that would be a better choice in regard to wear leveling for example. I also want to use BeQuiet Silent Wings 2 PWM fans as I already own them as intace (140mm) and exhaust (120mm) fans. I am also thinking of getting a good cpu cooler. Do you have any suggestions here? I hope someone can answer my questions and/or has additional tips for me.
  20. I wanted to get it from here http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/Lian-Li-PC-Q25B-Wuerfel-ohne-Netzteil-schwarz_760118.html I don't know how the price was the years before, but 114€ is okay I hope
  21. Hi everyone, I follow this forum for quiet some time now and am about to build my very first (unraid) server. I really like the PC-Q25 and I think that roland's build would fit my requirements pretty good. I mainly want to use it as NAS (HD/4K-streaming) and also want to install some dockers I think. Maybe in the future I want to make use of virtual machines but I don't think that I will install a graphics card so IOMMU isn't a topic for me if I understand this correct. So thank you for sharing your build roland Well I still have a few questions on the components and I hope some of the experts in here can clear me up. Case: Lian Li PC-Q25 Black Hot Swap Mini Tower Case I definitely want to use this Board: ASUS H87I-PLUS Motherboard Is there any reason for me to choose the H97I instead of the H87I? I'm thinking that maybe the M.2 Socket can be used for a cache drive such as the new Samsung SSD 950 Pro in the future. Do you think that M.2 will get relevant for unraid? Another question on the board: what kind of internally mounted usb 3.0 port adapter would you recommend? CPU: Intel Core i3 4130 I think that when I only want to make use of Intel VT-x this one is ok, right? RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM (2x4GB) DDR3 What's the reason to use 1600MHz for unraid? Because on other websites sometimes 1333MHz is recommended. And how important would be the use of ECC-RAM as these Ripjaws are non-ECC RAMS. I know that the ASUS-board does not support ECC-RAM, so maybe I should switch the board aswell? Another question I have is for how many HDD-Drives 8GB of DDR3 RAM in total would be enough? Is there a rule of thumb maybe? PSU: Silverstone ST45SF 450W SFX For the PSU I have the same question as for the RAM Is 450W enough even when I use a full setup of HDD drives and maybe SSD-Cache drives? Disk: 2x 4TB WD Red (1 data, 1 parity) I will get these aswell. Would you suggest using the SATA cables coming with the drives or should I order different cables? Cache: 120 GB Samsung SSD 840EVO I won't use a cache drive at first, but definitely sometime in the near future USB: Cruzer Fit (8GB) Is USB 3.0 a topic or is 2.0 enough? Is there maybe another USB-stick that would be a better choice in regard to wear leveling for example. I also want to use BeQuiet Silent Wings 2 PWM fans as I already own them as intace (140mm) and exhaust (120mm) fans. Is it save to use both fans with an y-adapter cable even if one is 140mm and the other one 120mm? Because the Asus-Board only has 2 4-pin connectors. I'm also thinking of getting the Noctua NH-L9i for cpu cooling. I hope someone can answer my questions and/or has additional tips for me. A wonderful week to all of you
