  1. This is even worse, the fact that I have had access to my server, and now by some divine interference I have not is totally intolerable.
  2. Sadly I have lost my samba connection, further proof everything is temporary totally unsatisfactory.
  3. I was unable to locate or even find my server using it's name or Ip address under the Network. I applied Get-SmbClientConfiguration to the powershell using administrator rights and my server opened immediately, I am unsure if this is a permanent connection and will not know until I close down and re-open tomorrow. But at least I have been able to connect, of course I have the same issues to connect to my older server too.
  4. Frank, thanks for sending me this....I have scrolled through them and though I would try get client configuration.......it instantly open my main server, does that mean that my user account details that i have set up based on your instructions are ok? I actually think this may have over ridden everything.....grateful for your views
  5. Frank, thanks for the links you sent containing details of my issues, I am currently tearing out what little hair I have left trying to overcome this problem. I have followed your instructions and also tried a few permeations. The issues appear to be that the network cant be found, nothing appears under networks, I have tried to keep things relatively simple IE smbuser. universal user etc I have two servers, one main, and an older one that I am in process of converting from reiser to xfs. There is only myself that has access from a single windows 11 home computer, the network as far as I can establish is Private. I notice from some of your screen shots your shares are set to Private, mine are not, do they need to be bearing in mind there is only me that has access? I have tried locating the server using its name and also its LAN IP and nothing is found, I have also tried using a saved link I have before the settings were changed, on clicking it, windows fetches the credential manager and asks for my password, which I guess that means that part is ok, when I put the password in it just states the server name cant be found? Grateful for your continued support T T
  6. Thanks for your reply Frank, I have managed to succeed for some time using Jorge's link but it is clear to me that it no longer works. I am happy to try to create a more permanent, compliant connection but I need some guidance on how to do it and what is required, I have never had to do this before.
  7. I have just tried to enable insecure guest logins a further twice with no change in the credential requirement.
  8. Well I have tried both the options and I still get the credential box, it worked fine when used the first but it seems no longer, there does not appear to be any issue I can see with Windows the server connected fine yesterday but not today.
  9. It would appear that windows update has changed my settings for accessing my server shares, and it is asking for credentials etc, I am of course using windows 11 home, this has happened before and Jorge was able to provide a link to correct the issue which has worked fine, but it appears the information no longer corrects the issue. I am guessing I will have to go down the road of creating a credential package, it would most helpful if I could get some idea of the requirements, do I need to create something on my Unraid servers ? if so where do I access to do it. I dont have a Microsoft account, so would I just be able to use my windows login details? and advice would very much appreciated. Thanks T T
  10. Please find diags from both servers whilst connected to the OLD router trooper1-diagnostics-20250510-1137.zip tower-diagnostics-20250510-1145.zip
  11. I did not pursue it far enough to find out, as soon as I save the word Java, I knew I did not want that installed on my desktop or the server.
  12. I managed to log in as you have said above but it required me to install some additional java software which I did not want to install on the server, I will connect the server on the old router provide diags and start again
  13. the new router is IP 192.168.50.1 all connected devices go from IP 192.168.50 ...77 -253
  14. Everything we have discussed refers to the new router..............the only time the old router was reconnected was my attempt to validate unraid against the settings of the new router. The NEW router lists main unraid server, it names it Super Micro Computer Inc, and gives it IP 192.168.50.253 , this address just appears to produce a login to Super micro. You asked if I had another device and I stated my Galaxy Tablet and I provided its IP 192.168.50.228 I am only able to manage this currently from the asus phone app which is fairly limited, I would like to access the Asus GUI but I am advised that will likely require a default reset, that is not something I really want to do but I need the router to adopt its default IP number
  15. The IP 192.168.50.228 is listed on the router and also on the Galaxy Tablet.
  16. I sent the IP shown on the Galaxy tablet
  17. Mine tablet is S10 plus 192.168.50.228
  18. I do have a samsung Galaxy tablet, its not hard wired but does connent by WiFi?
  19. I have not actually set anything on the router, I am not an expert in these matters and foolishy thought from my previous experiences the router sorted all these issues itself. Clearly that is not the case as I don't even think the router has the correct gateway. Further more I don't know how to change that either from this point. I am guessing it may require a default reset although I don't want to do that as it will cause additional problems but I dont see too many choices at the moment.. Sorry to cause additional typing and time etc but I genuinely thought a diag from the old router would be of little use in this issue, please accept my apologies and thanks for your assistance.
  20. I guess that would make sense, and also indicate why it timed out as it leads to a login for super micro. it is not clear to me why it would not assume the the IP, more importantly how can I change it?
  21. I assumed that would not have achieved anything as it was on the old router and would not have shown what the issues were?
  22. The router lists the server as Super Mircro Computer, 192.168.253 that IP opens the login for super mircro , i actually do not see the servers Ip displayed anywhere. As an update to this, I reconnected the old router in an effort to establish where the issues were, both my servers GUI's came up instantly and I logged into them. On reconnecting the new router neither servers GUI is contactable, that would at least indicate to me this problem is not an unraid problem.? Grateful for your views
  23. Ok I will acquire putty, off the top of your head, can you see a new router creating this issue or is it co-incidental and an underlying issue causing the problem? I ask because if the router is causing I will be wanting to send it back.
  24. What is SSH, I have never used it so I do not know how it works, is this something I have to download?
