What should i do/try with this thing? i wonder if its any good?

Although i have an LSI 9206-16e SAS HBA IT Mode in one of my unraid servers. i have just bought a couple of MiniSAS 4bay external drives so going to order myself: 9200-8e HP LSI SAS HBA - IT Mode with a couple of SFF-8088 cables - just need to up my unraid license from Pro (12 device)

I am now data rebuilding onto that new drive (16tb) and the old drive i will remove and inspect and afterwards - run a preclear and fully zero it to make sure its ok - then re-add it to a pool - or use it for something else... I have now set up a monthly scrub too Once the drive is all rebuilt, and thats all done I will be re-checking all cables being tidy and organised along the way In fact once its all done - i will come back and ask how i can re jig this so its neater (attached) I unbalanced and removed old 4tbs ages ago and bought a few 16s - so i have basically gaps Disk 2 Disk 3 Disk 4 etc i wanna rejig it so i dont have gaps is it just a case of stopping array and making new config? but with the checkbox to Preserve current assignments: ?

ahh the resets are because my server became unresponsive when copying some files over network a few times, so power cycled it... again i think this is to do with controllers etc will turn it on and do a scrub

Im not sure if its my LSI controller or my external DAS and its connections but since unraid 7 and uninstalling nerd tools - it says i have drive errors - then when i put replacement ready to go (already zerod and formatted) drive - it then has really really slow write speed from other drives to try and rebuild drive - i dont think it was faulty drive.... I did a diagnostic and because i didn't want to mess with anything - i turned server off (for now) Anyone else exoerience anything like this since uninstalling U7 and Uninstalling NERD Thanks Ric

Although it was someone else that posted - i am also trying this out tbh - have set up the dell part of the pc with 64Gb RAM, got lsi card - and all relevant sas cables - and just doing a test with a few random drives i have lying about - Will get back to you on the rest...

Thats not a very good reply, it has inside the box 3xsata ports, 1x m.2 2080, 2x m.2 2030 - and a PCI-e x16 slot - surely that would suffice, plus with the pci-e slot you can add maybe an LSI SAS Expander card of somesort???

thanks - i have no idea what to do next - since you updated - but thank you for updating - do i re download the unraid docker or just wait for it to tell me theres an update i requested it btw as the official documentation stated: You can edit configuration.php file to change the basic things like logo image, title, language and upload restrictions. Note: if you've made a mistake in configuration file (forgot to close a quote?) the script will fail to load or throw an error. Please use provided default configuration_sample.php to put everything back to normal. Ric

first of all thanks for this - its just what i was looking for, But i can only access the configuration.php and those folders through terminal - is there any way i could access them through maybe windows explorer - through maybe appdata folder or something? Thanks Ric
