  1. I found a guide on how to use UnRaid to make Time Machine backups for my mac. https://wiki.unraid.net/UnRAID_6/Configuring_Apple_Time_Machine#Guide:_Setting_up_a_Time_Machine_Share_on_your_Unraid_Server The instructions say that I need to create a unique Time Machine Share for each person. Is this still the case? The guide doesn't explain why my wife and I can't both use the same Time Machine share to store both of our Time Machine backups. Can someone explain why? Thanks.
  2. My apologies on the poor english. Should have just written that you and dlandon have suggested it may not be necessary and that dlandon suggested it may be more harmful than good.
  3. Not to derail the current conversation about the latest Preclear plugin working for v6.5, but I want to comment that there is some conflicting advice on whether to preclear or not. It seems that some senior members of the community such as dlandon and Squid feel that using this Preclear plugin may not be necessary and sometimes harmful. But then you have official Unraid documentation in the wiki that encourages users to preclear (https://lime-technology.com/wiki/Replacing_a_Data_Drive). Then there are those that say avoid the plugin and just use the script, but even that may require patches. There has obviously been a lot of hard work put in by these developers like gfjardim, and I'm very appreciative of their work. I've precleared all my drives before putting them in my array. But as a user that doesn't visit the Unraid forums often, it's hard to keep up with what the latest advice and caution is. It would be nice if Unraid updated their documentation on the wiki or made it very clear what their stance was on preclearing.
  4. You sir are amazing. Thank you for the quick fix and your contributions to the community!
  5. Came here to post that I am having the same problem as sarf ^^. See attached picture.
  6. Gotcha. I guess doing the way I posted would avoid the privileged mode option, which I'm not sure at all about.
  7. I had this same problem, refer to this https://couchpota.to/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4158 for the answer. Essentially, you have to put the credentials in couchpotato for the deluge daemon, which is not the same as the web GUI credentials. What's confusing is that to connect Sonarr (the TV version of couchpotato) you can use the deluge web GUI credentials. On a side note, I'm really hoping the linusserver team puts out an rTorrent/ruTorrent version. Deluge is ok, but it's not too stable for me when I am seeding >2000 torrents. It constantly crashes on me.
  8. Just added rTorrent/ruTorrent. Awesome, I just added a vote to rTorrent. I don't mind Deluge, but it's so slow when seeding >2000 torrents.
  9. Hey folks, I'm having 2 problems with Headphones. I can't find torrents and I get an error message when I manually post-process files. I just installed Headphones on my new unRAID server, I run Deluge, and my Headphone settings are as follows: 1) Black hole settings, directory pointing to a folder I download torrent files to 2) Music Download directory is where Deluge moves torrents to after completion 3) Search providers is set to my private tracker with proper credentials 4) Quality is set to "Highest Quality including Lossless" 5) Post processing copies the download to my destination folder (Plex) so I can continue seeding I can't snatch torrents. When I manually post-process completed downloads, everything works (download gets moved to my Plex folder and everything is renamed) but there are error messages in my log that are bothering me: 2016-01-12 11:30:07 ERROR Uncaught exception: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/app/headphones/headphones/logger.py", line 210, in new_run old_run(*args, **kwargs) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/threading.py", line 763, in run self.__target(*self.__args, **self.__kwargs) File "/app/headphones/headphones/postprocessor.py", line 1189, in forcePostProcess verify(rgid, folder, keep_original_folder=keep_original_folder) File "/app/headphones/headphones/postprocessor.py", line 219, in verify doPostProcessing(albumid, albumpath, release, tracks, downloaded_track_list, Kind, keep_original_folder) File "/app/headphones/headphones/postprocessor.py", line 452, in doPostProcessing plex.update() File "/app/headphones/headphones/notifiers.py", line 362, in update sections = r.getElementsByTagName('Directory') AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'getElementsByTagName' 2016-01-12 11:30:07 ERROR Request raised exception: No connection adapters were found for '192.168.1.12:32400/library/sections' 2016-01-12 11:30:07 INFO Sending library update command to Plex Media Server@ 192.168.1.12:32400 2016-01-12 11:30:07 INFO Post-processing for Michael Bublé - Christmas complete 2016-01-12 11:30:07 INFO Library scan complete 2016-01-12 11:30:07 INFO Updating artist track counts 2016-01-12 11:30:07 INFO Completed matching tracks from directory: /music/Michael Bublé - Christmas (2011) 2016-01-12 11:30:07 INFO Track matching is 100.0% complete 2016-01-12 11:30:07 INFO Track matching is 50.0% complete 2016-01-12 11:30:07 INFO Now matching songs by Michael Bublé 2016-01-12 11:30:07 INFO Found 16 new/modified tracks in: '/music/Michael Bublé - Christmas (2011)'. 10. Just wanted to add that I as well had issues transcoding to RAM (/tmp). My TV shows played fine but any of my remux movies would not play (~20-30GB per movie). I have a 6 core processor with 32GB RAM. Until Plex fixes this, I think the Docker FAQ thread (http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=40937.msg419495#msg419495) should be amended to NOT recommend transcoding to RAM. I just built my system so I followed those FAQs to the teeth. Would have saved me some frustrating hours. I followed these steps to transcode back to my SSD cache.
  11. Just installed your plugin dmacias, thank you and eschultz for your hard work. Screen works!
  12. I think I've figured it out. I mapped: /config to /mnt/cache/appdata/deluge /downloads to /mnt/cache/downloads /torrents to /mnt/disk1/torrents on the Deluge GUI, I set downloads to: "/downloads/incomplete" moved completed to: "/torrents/seeds" autoadd .torrent files from: "/downloads/watch" With this setup, I believe my torrents get downloaded to my incomplete folder on the cache, and are moved to the seeds folder on the array when completed, eliminating the need for a mover script and direct writes to the array. The only thing that doesn't work is the autoadd feature. Got it working after a restart. Also, I tried to install 3rd-party plugins but the links are dead on the http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/Plugins page. Specifically, the plug-in "Copy Completed." Even the included plug-ins don't work. I tried the included "autoadd" plugin but nothing happened. Any ideas?
  13. Having some trouble, I extensively read the Docker FAQ about volume mapping but I might still be messing up. I have container volume "/config" and host path to "/mnt/cache/appdata/deluge" I have container volume "/downloads" and host path to "/mnt/cache/downloads/deluge" When I open Deluge webGUI the downloads are set to "/home/abc/Downloads" Is this correct? I thought Linux was case-sensitive, so shouldn't downloads be set to "/home/abc/downloads" or "/downloads"
  14. Are there any plans for your team to add rTorrent/ruTorrent?
  15. Thanks for the info garycase, this is exactly what I needed to know. Got it, I didn't consider that if the PSU is enough to start up all the drives, then there is likely enough power for the MOBO and CPU considering most drives won't be spinning at a given time. I'm taking your advice and plan to purchase the SeaSonic Snow Silent 750W ATX12V (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151154). It's fully modular, platinum efficiency, and the fan is hybrid (from what I understand it doesn't turn on at low loads). Roger, already have a UPS so covered there
  16. Thanks for the tips! I didn't realize they updated their models. If anyone has knowledge about the above, I'm all ears! Thanks!
  17. I'm trying to perform a more accurate power calculation for my MOBO/CPU setup, but I'm a little confused. It's been mentioned several times to save 5A for the MOBO/CPU. The CPU I'm purchasing is the Xeon® Processor E5-1650 v3 (http://ark.intel.com/products/82765/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E5-1650-v3-15M-Cache-3_50-GHz) which has a TDP of 140W (which divided by 12v becomes 11.67A). The MOBO I'm purchasing is the Supermicro X10SRA-F (http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon/C600/X10SRA-F.cfm), but I don't see any information about power requirements. So far, the CPU seems like it will use up a lot more than 5A. And how much amperage should I account for if I end up buying a dedicated GPU in the future? What about for SATA cards? Please educate if my power calculations are incorrect. Thanks.
  18. Sweet! I've already got a UPS and unRAID will cover #2,3 like you said. How do I do this? It sounds like the performance hit outweighs the potential benefits since my original notion that a hard drive that is being written to during a PSU failure will become broken wasn't true. This is another benefit of unRAID I didn't consider. Other than family photos, I don't deal with any data that is too important to lose. I was more concerned with having 24 drives become broken during a PSU failure (since that is lots of $$$), but my notion wasn't correct, I'm much more reassured with having a single non-redundant PSU on a UPS to cover power outages. Thanks guys.
  19. Thank you for the response! I will plan the PSU for the case (24 drives for the Norco 4224) and NOT for the total drive capacity of the system. I'm convinced to stick with a single, non-redundant PSU. Thanks! My main motivation for wanting a redundant PSU is this notion I have that if a PSU fails while a hard drive is being used (e.g., spinning up for read/write operation) then that hard drive can be corrupted beyond repair. If this notion is true, then the thought that 24 drives can all become lost beyond repair in a single PSU failure is scary. Is my fear unreasonable or misinformed?
  20. This is a great thread, answered a lot of questions I already had. I still have some questions that I didn't see answers to though, so hopefully one of y'all can help me out. I'm going to apologize upfront for some of the stupid questions to follow. 1) I plan to eventually fill all 24 drives in a Norco 4224 with green drives (i.e. <7200 rpm). Tom said the next major unRAID update will have a capacity of 30 drives, so I want to prepare for that. I plan to expand past the 24 drive capacity of the Norco 4224 by simply buying another Norco 4224 and linking it to the CPU/MOBO from the 1st Norco. I plan to use green drives (i.e., < 7200rpm), so my power calculations come out to: 24 drives x 2A + 5A + overage ~ 60A 30 drives x 2A + 5A + overage ~70A Should I just buy a 70A PSU or can I buy a 60A now, and when the need arises buy a 10A PSU to cover the additional power 30 drives will need compared to 24 drives. Is it possible to add multiple PSU's together to achieve the total power requirement? 2) If answer to #1 is yes (multiple PSU's can be additive to achieve total power requirement), is it also possible to have a redundant power supply? 3) Am I correct in that a redundant PSU for an ATX system is literally 2 PSU's in a single ATX form factor and not 2 separate PSU's connected in a redundant fashion? 4) If I use a redundant PSU for my 24/7/365 system, does the 2nd PSU draw power? If so, how many watts can I expect to waste? 5) The Norco supports ATX PSU and a "mini redundant power supply." Does anyone know what this "mini redundant power supply" is referring to? http://www.norcotek.com/product/rpc-4224/ 6) Is there any benefit to using a "server" PSU instead of the ATX PSU (Newegg makes a differentiation between server PSU and non-server PSU)? I suppose this is more of an issue of whether your case supports ATX or the larger "server" PSU. Thanks for the help guys.
