  1. Hi,

I used to run a script on unraid from within a docker

    #!/bin/bash
    docker exec -u abc -i sabnzbdrninja-rss /downloads/opus/opus.bash /music/music

unfortunately that docker no longer uses opusenc which is installed in the package opus-tools

How can I install opus-tools on unraid so I can get this script working again as apt-get does not work on unraid

    Many thanks

I haven't such problem on my Toshiba disks ( all 6TB ) , but all manufacturing before 2018. Pls provide their SMART detail for ref.

    Hi,

I quite a few Toshiba drives that are all fine but I have bought 4 in the last 3 months, one was DOA (Screaming Noise) and the other 3 all have Reallocated Errors and or CRC Errors

Here are the 3 reports, would be good to know if I should try to RMA them or not?

    Thank you

  3. Hi,

I have bought 3 X300 Drives over the last 3 months and all have CRC & Reallocation errors, they were in a different server until last week so I have acknowledged the errors in my new server and will see if they increase.  Is this anything to worry about do you think? I have not seen (but also probably not looked before) on brand new drives?

Read through this section of the manual:

           https://wiki.unraid.net/Manual/Changing_The_Flash_Device

I believe you will be able to do what you want using one of those methods.   A quick read through the instructions said that the array won't start with an invalid license but I did not see an indication that a VM would not start.

One more thing, the license is tied to the physical flash drive.  So you could make a backup of the original flash drive (making absolutely certain that you have a copy of that Plus .key file!!) and then format the old flash drive, copy the contents of the new flash drive onto that old flash drive, replace the trial .key file with the Plus .key file, run the makebootable file and use that old flash drive to boot the system.

PS-----   Make backups of your flash drives!!!  If you have those backups, you will never need them!!!!!

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I had been through those but the issue is with the internet, A VM won't start unless the array is started so I am in a catch 22 situation, I feel like I have painted myself into a corner 🙂

  5. Hi,

I have built a replacement server using a trial key and everything is now how I want it except the licence!

This new server runs a Sophos XG Firewall VM so provides internet to the house and obviously if I shut it down I will not be able to start it again as there will be no interet (this server replaces the old server that used to run Sophos)

How can I transfer the licence to this new server without internet?  Can I copy the plus.key in place of the trial.key?

    Thanks in advance!

Oh sorry, didn't read that you are on 6.9.0, you have to be at least on 6.10.0-RC2 so that the RMRR patch is included in Unraid.

Where does it say that you have to be on 6.9.0 RC2 that it will work, I'll have to change that if that's wrong...

The Kernel-Helper isn't available anymore because nearly everything is included in Unraid itself or at least available through plugins.

I think I fell into the trap on this thread as it is titled current, maybe that thread title can be changed if it is not current? This is where it states you need 6.9.0 RC2 & up and being on 6.9.2 and the fact I read the title of the thread as current.

    This is HP Proliant, so:

vfio-pci 0000:07:00.0: DMAR: Device is ineligible for IOMMU domain attach due to platform RMRR requirement. Contact your platform vendor.

    You have this boot arg:

    intel_iommu=relax_rmrr

But I think you need kernel patch.

    Here some readings:

Thank you for your reply, I had already discussed the problem with @ich777 here

He asked me to post in VM Support as he thinks it is not an RMRR issue?

    Hi,

Thanks so much for your time and the link, I have followed everything that user had done but still cannot start a VM (Any VM) with group 11-14

CPU Mode, Machine type or Bios make no difference sadly,

Is it possible that this card will not pass through? could it be that I need a different card? I see others have successfully passed through but maybe not for my hardware setup?

    Again, thanks!

  9. Hi,

I have a 4 port NIC which I have managed to seperate on my HP Gen 8 Microserver using downstream all 4 ports are passed through but if I select any one of them (or all 4) I get the Execution error below.

I have tried VFIO allow unsafe interrupts also with no change.

Can anyone offer any advice please?

    Many thanks!

    Of course not.

Tick the boxes at System Devices and at the bottom click „Bind on Reboot to VFIO“ and reboot afterwards.

This question would be better suired in the VM sub forums how to bind cards, RMRR is working from what I see.

OK, thank you anyway, I did what you said and all 4 ports are now tickable and available in the VM but I still get an error when starting the VM

I think because 11 is used for Unraid…

Is this a quad gigabit card? I would recommend that you bind all NICs that you want to use to VFIO and then try to pass them through.

Hi, yes it is a quad gigabit card, I have tried singularly passing through ports 12-14 (11 is greyed out)

I have removed the card and now the 2 ports on the Gen8 are showing in group 11 is that what you mean? does unraid HAVE to use 11?

When you say bind all the NICS that I want to pass through on the 4 port card, do you mean within unraid network settings?

    Thank you

This is the list with the Quad NIC removed

Because I've quoted the part from the RC3 Changelog where it says that it's now part of Unraid itself, anyways here is the link: Click

Those two posts are now also deprecated because it's part of Unraid itself.

Go to the Unraid "Main" tab -> click on your USB Boot device (blue text "flash") -> at the green Syslinux configuration add this (just add it if you have any other things there):

    image.thumb.png.6d97b7d68e0b203e4eac1481942ad77d.png

Click on the bottom on "Apply" and reboot your server.

Thank you, that makes sense now 🙂

Unfortunately I still have the problem

internal error: qemu unexpectedly closed the monitor: 2022-03-12T11:53:40.135099Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=0000:07:00.2,id=hostdev0,bus=pci.3,addr=0x0: vfio 0000:07:00.2: failed to setup container for group 13: Failed to set iommu for container: Operation not permitted

It does this for groups 12-14 (for some reason I cannot select group 11?)

What is annoying is I did this years ago successfully with the same hardware and I have resurrected the microserver.

I have entered the command as shown

    image.thumb.png.20b5b0321297139d35288c096e8d2ae5.png

Any ideas what could be the problem?

    Thank you

Thank you for your reply 🙂

I cannot see the changelog link?  Maybe this will help me and others if this topic is modified to day it is not in use?

    I went from this post

to this post titled New & Current Method

On this post there is no mention of a change? it is read as it is titled as current method

Thank you for letting me know I just need to add intel_iommu=relax_rmrr to my syslinux.cfg but if I click the link to github that you provided the syslinux.cfg looks completely different to mine? do I just put intel_iommu=relax_rmrr at the end? I cannot find any documentation for this?

    This is my syslinux.cfg

  14. Hi!

I would love to get this rmmr patch running on my Gen8 Microserver, I am currently running 6.9.2 so cannot see the kernal helper in the app section, would it be visible if I changed to 6.10.0-rc3?  there are no other options in the update os branch?

The prerequisite is 6.9.0 RC 2 and up I would have thought that would have included 6.9.2?

The purpose for me is to pass through a 4 port  network card

    Many thanks

  15. Hi, I have been running this container for years, installed using the spaceinvader one guide but today installed fresh on a new server and need to be able to upload files several gigabytes in size.  Is this file the only one I need to modify to enable that option?

    nextcloud/nginx/site-confs/default

    client_max_body_size

    Thank you
