  5. actually after leaving it a couple of days it appears to have the data in the guide.xml, but not in emby.... off to look at xteve and emby mapping to see what's up
  6. i have two lineups in my config (USA and UK), USA is listed first and UK is second in the config file. I'm not getting the UK EPG data - the channel data is in the donwloaded "guide.xml" but the program data is not. Any suggestions for what I shoul look at? thanks so if I search the entire file for "ESPN" i get this (and a lot more of the description entries) Search "espn" (197 hits in 1 file) \\192.168.168.204\appdata\TVGuideXML\guide.xml (197 hits) Line 78: <display-name>ESPN</display-name> Line 79: <display-name>ESPN</display-name> Line 657: <display-name>ESPN2</display-name> Line 658: <display-name>ESPN2</display-name> Line 902: <display-name>ESPNEWS</display-name> Line 903: <display-name>ESPNEWS</display-name> Line 2316: <display-name>ESPN Deportes</display-name> Line 2317: <display-name>ESPND</display-name> Line 3415: <display-name>ESPNU</display-name> Line 3416: <display-name>ESPNU</display-name> Line 3499: <display-name>BT Sport ESPN</display-name> Line 3500: <display-name>ESPNUK</display-name> Line 4610: <display-name>BT Sport ESPN HD</display-name> Line 4611: <display-name>ESPNHDE</display-name> Line 5433: <display-name>ESPN Goal Line & Buzzer Beater</display-name> Line 15060: <desc>The latest news, highlights and inside information from every corner of the sports world is presented each day on "SportsCenter," ESPN's first-ever program when the network debuted in September of 1979. 7. sadly zap2xml only works with tvguide.com which doesn't have UK listings....
  8. I'm just messing with the TVXML Schedules Direct unraid docker, but of course SD is subs based
  9. oh, man, don't get me started on subscriptions; they're EVERYWHERE for EVERYTHING. music? pay. EPG? pay. Newsgroup indexer? pay. Newsgroup connection? pay. VPN? pay. Record tv? (on your own bloody device!). pay. netflx? pay. amz prime? pay. motortrend on demand? pay. software? pay. ad nauseam, every month.... for the rest of your life!! Does. My. Head. In. It's death by a thousand cuts and starts to make Sky Q or similar look less economically onerous - the expense of Sky subs is the reason I went untethered in the first place, but that value proposition is being eroded by all the little mouths at the trough! I have a Premiere sub to emby and have been an emby user (and voluntary contributor) since they very first started as Media Browser on MS Media Center and I was very vocal about it when they announced the subs model with the "lifetime" misnomer (it's not lifetime as any human would read it, it's their nebulous development cycle lifetime, which is not fixed; could be 18 months, could be 2 years, could be 6 months. Absolutely no definition - what a crock! Trouble is, the time invested in getting it to where it is now with terabytes and terabytes of media means I'm tied (and they know this!) - going to another platform just brings with it a whole new level of pain and vertical learning curves that I have neither the time nor inclination for any longer (and they know this too!) Zen thoughts.
  10. I didn't erase anything though - I just downloaded it from CA and ran it once i'd finished the config and the "XMLTVSchedulesDirect" docker was running nifty (and his few brothers) dissappeared.....
  11. what is this "nifty_hermann" docker that gets created???
  12. That means no auto update of the iptv providers m3u, right? or would that happen at the xteve . I'll have another look at it later - trying to do it around work duties is just adding to my increasing level of frustration and irritation with it
  13. Do you mean when using HD Homerun in xTeve and not XMLTV? And go thru the 50000 channels to map them in the emby "map channels" interface, one channel at a time?
  14. ok - I got it working by using and XMLTV feed as you can't channel map if using emby's EPG. what a bloody palava - who knew simply filtering and channel mapping an m3u feed was going to be soooooooo overly complicated and such a pita.?
  15. xteve is also painfully slow in my setup - is this just an unraid/docker thing? my m3u has 50k channels, is it that that's causing it? Any advice on speeding it up would be gratefully recieved.
