  1. Thank you very much for your help, Veah!
  2. Thanks! But what are the differences of "Move" function in Main and the unbalanced web UI where we may also move files?
  3. What are the ways to move all the data of the disk to be removed to other disks prior to removing it from array? Here is the screenshot of the main: (I made a screenshot but was unable to attach it here! 😓) Thank you all for your help!
  4. I have a similar case, but only my system was built in 2010 with total 8 disks. With currently one parity drive of 6TB and seven data drives of various capacities, I wish to convert the system to two parity drives and six data drives. Can I take out one data drive and replace with a drive of same size of the current parity drive as the new second parity drive, all in one step? 1. Stop the array 2. Take out one data disk 3. Add a new 6TB disk in the slot just vacated and assign it as the second parity drive 4. Start the array The 6.12.13 OS should first clear the new drive so I assume that I do not need to first preclear it, am I right? Thanks!
  5. I used to have my own router with gateway of "192.168.1.1" but recently changed to ATT fiber with an Arris modem/router with a new gateway of "192.168.1.254". Without change of anything I may still get my Unraid server up and running but there is a warning "Fix Common Problems ... Errors have been found with your server. Investigate at Settings/User Utilities/Fix Common Problems". The "Fix Common Problems" page is showing as attached below. Please guide me to fix this problem. I set a fixed IP for my Unraid box at 192.168.1.120 of which I use it to get the server GUI. The "Suggested Fix" of "Reset your modem / router" means to reset the IPv4 default gateway and IPv4 DNS server to "192.168.1.254" to match the present gateway address, and to set DNS to 8.8.8.8, is it correct? What's the difference of deleting /config/network.cfg from the flash drive and reboot? Thanks for the help!
  6. Thanks, Squid! I shall post a new one to get help.
  7. I pasted the link to "Plugins/Install Plugin" but the install process showed the error message as: "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg download failure (Network failure)" What is wrong with it? Thanks for the help!
  8. Thank you everyone who helped! The process completed last night as I turned off power save setting and won't let the windows going sleep. I didn't realize that the client may affect the server in this way!
  9. After I close the windows / Web GUI, I can see that the light on the disks keeps on or blinking, which I assume that the process is running. However when I open a new Web GUI, all the lights go off so the process is stopped, right? Then how do I check the process status and know that it is completed if I am unable to open a web gui?
  10. I started to run it now, and have closed the Web GUI, and let it to run overnight. I hope that to open the Web GUI again tomorrow won't interrupt the process if it is not completed by then. Thanks for the help!
  11. Thank you, Squid! It showed the process from disk 1, and go on, until hung on a disk (different disk on different run). Should I select "All disks" and "Al shares", or what should I suppose to select? As I have shares of the media files such as pictures and videos but also those of the windows and mac backups including TimeMachine, iTunes Media, would those shares be a problem in running New Permissions?
  12. I built a server in 2012 with an AMD Sempron 145 on a Zotac GF6100-E-E motherboard and 7 drives. The server had been running V.4 and then was upgraded to V.5-rc5 about a year later. It has been running without an issue until I decided to upgrade to V.6 in the last week. I followed Frank1940's upgrade steps and the upgraded server was up and running. When I run the New Permissions from Tool, the process run hours without completion. I have run the process several times but it always hung without a successful completion. I am attaching the diagnostics file below and hope someone may help! tower-diagnostics-20190930-1735.zip
