  1. hi, here are my settings. i am now seeing that sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't! super annoying. for example, just downloaded an album just fine, but it won't extract a movie. some tv shows fine, but some just hang there. maybe size related? tons of room on my array, and my cache. for example, just downloaded 3 tv shows, the first two episdoes downloaded and were sorted fine, the last one just hangs at 100% downloaded. really up for any suggestions!!!
  2. hello thanks for this, really appreciate it. tried but no luck... think there could be an issue relating to what user sab is running as? wonder how i can check that?
  3. hi, summary of my issue: files are sitting in download queue at 100% downloaded, but are not unpacking. Getting error 'cannot create final folder (filename)' background fully working system for years, uptime of over 6 months! formerly using needo docker for sab, and noticed this morning that i had 6 files in the queue, fully downloaded but not unpacked. a bit of research showed that needos docker was out of date, so installed the linuxserver one, rebooted server. copied over settings, got it up and running fine. But same problem! anything added to queue will download, but not unpack. Not sure why this issue appeared out of nowhere, and occured under both dockers. any advice? PS. in sab setting, tried changing permissions, currently set to 777, tried 770 but then got this error when trying to save Cannot create complete_dir folder /mnt/user/Stuff to burn/! unzip there appears to be some problem with sab accessing my folders... sabnzbd (1).log

  5. hi all! i had been using the eroz airvideoserver, which worked well for me, however i couldn't get it to work with my new apple tv, it would never connect. eroz suggested that i try airvideohd as it may work... for some reason, when i install airvideohd, i can't get anything to connect. the log files seems to suggest an error with bonjour... any suggestions on how to resolve this? i will attach my logs as well...any help is greatly appreciated! server_prop_and_network_log.zip
  6. thanks, i assumed the two programs were similar... for some reason i can't get the other one working! but i can use yours fine (except for with appletv) will try to keep working the other one
  7. I have this working with my iphone and ipad, but cannot get it working with my appletv v4! any advice? some research says that airvideo needs to be version 2.2.1, but i can't tell what is inside this docker, or how to update the version. any advice?
  8. Interesting read, i upgrade to v6 last night. got plex up and running, played some movies and tv shows fine. then set /transcode to /tmp, and changed the plex settings to /transcode played a few HD tv shows, and worked great. these are all around the 1gb size. then tried some movies, coudln't get a single one to play! very odd, they are all around the 8gb mark in size removed the /transcode reference in plex settings, and then all tv and movies played fine. i have a system with 16gb ram (spread over 2 cpu) so i would have thought i have plenty! not sure if the 'broken' plex has been fixed yet.
  9. hi, i am about to upgrade but can't tell what exact version i'm on! in the gui in the upper right it says 5.0, but i'm unsure if i'll need to run new permissions or not also, are there any good guides on how to move apps to dockers? i'm running sab, sickbeard and plex on plugins today, but would like to move to dockers
  10. just as an update, i can't seem to format the drive in windows either regardless of quick format or long format. so something must be really screwed with the drive can someone tell me how to reboot with memtest? i've tried searching but can't tell how...
  11. thanks for all the feedback. can anyone point me in the right direction in terms of how to run a memory test on the server?
  12. okay reran with updated script. still got weird error from before. will remove from system however i'm wondering what it actually means, and what caused it? ========================================================================1.15 == invoked as: ./preclear_disk.sh -M 4 /dev/sdp == == Disk /dev/sdp has NOT been successfully precleared == Postread detected un-expected non-zero bytes on disk== == Ran 1 cycle == == Using :Read block size = 8388608 Bytes == Last Cycle's Pre Read Time : 8:06:47 (68 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Zeroing time : 7:09:45 (77 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Post Read Time : 15:38:23 (35 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Total Time : 30:55:57 == == Total Elapsed Time 30:55:57 == == Disk Start Temperature: 33C == == Current Disk Temperature: 32C, == ============================================================================ ** Changed attributes in files: /tmp/smart_start_sdp /tmp/smart_finish_sdp ATTRIBUTE NEW_VAL OLD_VAL FAILURE_THRESHOLD STATUS RAW_VALUE Temperature_Celsius = 120 119 0 ok 32 No SMART attributes are FAILING_NOW 0 sectors were pending re-allocation before the start of the preclear. 0 sectors were pending re-allocation after pre-read in cycle 1 of 1. 0 sectors were pending re-allocation after zero of disk in cycle 1 of 1. 0 sectors are pending re-allocation at the end of the preclear, the number of sectors pending re-allocation did not change. 0 sectors had been re-allocated before the start of the preclear. 0 sectors are re-allocated at the end of the preclear, the number of sectors re-allocated did not change. ============================================================================ ============================================================================ ==
  13. oops didn't notice i was using old version just updated and restarted the preclear. i'm fairly certain i'm just going to dispose of this drive once preclear is done. after losing a full drive of data i would be insane to put this back in my server even if results come back clear right?
  14. hi all, wanted to run my preclear results by you. i've highlighted the part in bold that looks weird to me. for some background, this is a drive that flaked out on my one day and i lost ALL the data on it. i don't intend to reuse it, however i ran preclear to see what it would say. it says it has NOT been successfully precleared? =======================================================================1.13 == invoked as: ./preclear_disk.sh -M 4 /dev/sdp == == Disk /dev/sdp has NOT been successfully precleared == Postread detected un-expected non-zero bytes on disk== == Ran 1 cycle == == Using :Read block size = 8225280 Bytes == Last Cycle's Pre Read Time : 8:07:02 (68 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Zeroing time : 7:09:46 (77 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Post Read Time : 15:36:35 (35 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Total Time : 30:54:24 == == Total Elapsed Time 30:54:24 == == Disk Start Temperature: 34C == == Current Disk Temperature: 34C, == ============================================================================ No SMART attributes are FAILING_NOW 0 sectors were pending re-allocation before the start of the preclear. ============================================================================ ============================================================================ == == S.M.A.R.T Initial Report for /dev/sdp == Disk: /dev/sdp smartctl 5.40 2010-10-16 r3189 [i486-slackware-linux-gnu] (local build) Copyright © 2002-10 by Bruce Allen, http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net === START OF INFORMATION SECTION === Model Family: Western Digital Caviar Green family Device Model: WDC WD20EADS-00R6B0 Serial Number: WD-WCAVY0403098 Firmware Version: 01.00A01 User Capacity: 2,000,398,934,016 bytes Device is: In smartctl database [for details use: -P show] ATA Version is: 8 ATA Standard is: Exact ATA specification draft version not indicated Local Time is: Tue Oct 21 20:21:21 2014 CDT SMART support is: Available - device has SMART capability. 17. Ok I agree. Started a third preclear just out of curiosity before I got your responses. I think even if the sectors are cleared I will remove and use for backup
  18. Ok here's a second preclear on the drive above.....if i'm reading correctly, the first clear above resulted in 3 pending sectors at the end....when i started this second preclear, there were 5 at the start, 0 after the zeroing, but then 6 at the end. so it seems like bad sectors are popping up, getting fixed, but then new ones are popping up drive is out of warranty. should i run a third preclear? i suspect i know what the outcome will be! ========================================================================1.13 == invoked as: ./preclear_disk.sh -M 4 /dev/sdj == WDC WD20EARS-00S8B1 WD-WCAVY2471414 == Disk /dev/sdj has been successfully precleared == with a starting sector of 64 == Ran 1 cycle == == Using :Read block size = 8225280 Bytes == Last Cycle's Pre Read Time : 7:53:24 (70 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Zeroing time : 6:55:29 (80 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Post Read Time : 15:27:00 (35 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Total Time : 30:16:55 == == Total Elapsed Time 30:16:55 == == Disk Start Temperature: 30C == == Current Disk Temperature: 37C, == ============================================================================ ** Changed attributes in files: /tmp/smart_start_sdj /tmp/smart_finish_sdj ATTRIBUTE NEW_VAL OLD_VAL FAILURE_THRESHOLD STATUS RAW_VALUE Temperature_Celsius = 115 122 0 ok 37 Reallocated_Event_Count = 90 95 0 ok 110 No SMART attributes are FAILING_NOW 5 sectors were pending re-allocation before the start of the preclear. 5 sectors were pending re-allocation after pre-read in cycle 1 of 1. 0 sectors were pending re-allocation after zero of disk in cycle 1 of 1. 6 sectors are pending re-allocation at the end of the preclear, a change of 1 in the number of sectors pending re-allocation. 107 sectors had been re-allocated before the start of the preclear. 112 sectors are re-allocated at the end of the preclear, a change of 5 in the number of sectors re-allocated. ============================================================================ ============================================================================ == == S.M.A.R.T Initial Report for /dev/sdj == Disk: /dev/sdj smartctl 5.40 2010-10-16 r3189 [i486-slackware-linux-gnu] (local build) Copyright © 2002-10 by Bruce Allen, http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net === START OF INFORMATION SECTION === Model Family: Western Digital Caviar Green (Adv. 21. thanks Gary... that's probably a good way to look at backups for me, i tend to burn to dvd almost everything before it goes on my server... the exception is super large movie files....so if i had a catastrophic loss, i could reload the most important parts off dvd but it would be a chore for sure. but at least its something
  22. thanks Gary, no one could ever accuse you of not being a champion for backups!!! :D do you happen to know what the 'reported uncorrect' error means? seems like some of these smart criteria are serious, and some are not, but i've never heard about this one before
  23. hi there! i have a second drive's preclear result (mine is also the previous post). thought it might be best to have these results in a separate post. overall i think these look okay, but there is one error called 'reported uncorrect' which i've never seen before... think its a concern? this drive used to be my parity drive, and i recently removed it to upgrade to a 4tb parity. my plan was to add the former drive to the array (ie add this precleared drive to the array) but just a bit unsure what this indicator means. ========================================================================1.13 == invoked as: ./preclear_disk.sh -M 4 /dev/sdc == ST3000DM001-9YN166 W1F0A74C == Disk /dev/sdc has been successfully precleared == with a starting sector of 1 == Ran 1 cycle == == Using :Read block size = 8225280 Bytes == Last Cycle's Pre Read Time : 17:00:19 (49 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Zeroing time : 8:59:07 (92 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Post Read Time : 14:22:40 (57 MB/s) == Last Cycle's Total Time : 40:23:08 == == Total Elapsed Time 40:23:08 == == Disk Start Temperature: 33C == == Current Disk Temperature: 33C, == ============================================================================ ** Changed attributes in files: /tmp/smart_start_sdc /tmp/smart_finish_sdc ATTRIBUTE NEW_VAL OLD_VAL FAILURE_THRESHOLD STATUS RAW_VALUE Raw_Read_Error_Rate = 119 105 6 ok 212052856 Spin_Retry_Count = 100 100 97 near_thresh 0 End-to-End_Error = 100 100 99 near_thresh 0 Airflow_Temperature_Cel = 67 67 45 near_thresh 33 No SMART attributes are FAILING_NOW 0 sectors were pending re-allocation before the start of the preclear. ============================================================================ ============================================================================ == == S.M.A.R.T Initial Report for /dev/sdc == Disk: /dev/sdc smartctl 5.40 2010-10-16 r3189 [i486-slackware-linux-gnu] (local build) Copyright © 2002-10 by Bruce Allen, http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net === START OF INFORMATION SECTION === Device Model: ST3000DM001-9YN166 Serial Number: W1F0A74C Firmware Version: CC4C User Capacity: 3,000,592,982,016 bytes Device is: Not in smartctl database [for details use: -P showall] ATA Version is: 8 ATA Standard is: ATA-8-ACS revision 4 Local Time is: Mon Oct 7 21:40:26 2013 CDT SMART support is: Available - device has SMART capability.
