Unraid 6.9.2 no smart data on Seagate sas drive

Recommended Posts

I have 2 2TB sas drives in an array with an H310 mini in IT mode. The two drives are Seagate

ST32000444SS drives and refuse to give out any SMART data at all. I've looked all over the internet and found that someone with an sas Seagate drive discovered a firmware issue with the drive resulting in the smart data pages (something like that) not being provided. They created a workaround on smartmontools and this was included with version 6.5. Here is the link to the thread:  (https://web.archive.org/web/20210419091225/https://www.smartmontools.org/ticket/678). Does anyone know if I should try to update the firmware on the drive or try something else?

Unraid is running 7.1 so the patch should be in the smartctl. What output do you get? if you run the command manually?

i.e. smartctl -a /dev/sdx?

I figured but this is the output I get on both drives:

smartctl 7.1 2019-12-30 r5022 [x86_64-linux-5.10.28-Unraid] (local build)
