Fishypops
Hi, I have the be following array. I wish to add a new WD plus 6TB, replacing the 2TB duvet. I have a total of 4 slots. Am I correct in saying that I should do the be following; 1. Run a pretty check 2. Stop the array 3. Remove the parity drive 4. Replace with the new drive. 5. Wait for the rebuild to take place. 6. ?? Remove the 2tb drive. 7. Replace with the previous parity drive Current Array Parity - (sdb) - 4TB Drive 1 - (sdc ) - 3TB Drive 2 - (sde) - 2TB Drive 3 - (sdd) - 3TB Are there any steps that I have missed ? Will this work ok ? Thanks. Quote Link to comment

Fishypops
Thanks. I read through the parity swap procedure. I think that I get it Quote Link to comment
JonathanM
Parity swap only applies when you have a failed drive, the steps you outline are normal drive upgrades, which is what you want. The only thing you may want to do is a parity check after 5 and before 6. Quote Link to comment
