JorgeB
Disk was already disabled at boot so we can't see what happened, but SMART looks OK, suggest replacing/swapping cables to rule those out if it happens again to the same disk and then re-sync parity. 5 minutes ago, spacezmonkey said: when i log into my unraid one day, I realized that my parity drive is disabled Make sure you enable system notifications so you're notified at once when there's a problem, or it might be too late. Frank1940
When you replace those cables, double the connections on all of the other SATA cables-- both power data and power. SATA connectors are notorious at working themselves loose when moved. Quote Link to comment
spacezmonkey
i did rotate my server from horizonal position to vertical position when i try to remove the fan filter for washing. Maybe it cause the cable to become loose. I try to open up the server casing and check the cable again. 😀 Quote Link to comment
spacezmonkey
Hello, I have replace the sata cable that is connected to disabled drive. And click on the little cross beside the word parity to spin up the disk, but it is still showing parity device is disabled. Power supply is shared with other disk, so i dont think there is any issue with power supply. May i know what else should i be checking? Quote Link to comment
Solution JorgeB Posted May 18, 2022 Solution Share Posted May 18, 2022 Once a disk gets disabled it needs to be rebuilt/re-synced: https://wiki.unraid.net/Manual/Storage_Management#Rebuilding_a_drive_onto_itself Quote Link to comment
