  • I have pushed out an update that will now move the old server jar to the old server versions folder

  • if you are useing an android client you will not be able to connect because you are running bedrock and my dockers are all java

  • it seems that for right now this is not possible as starting with version 1.20.5 of minecraft it now requires java 21 and at this time it is not available on linux except for unstable testing.

It would appear the git repo is down, I had to reinstall from a backup, and can't pull the repo. Is there a mirror someplace, or will it be up again soon?

the repo is back online

I'm a total noob and i don't understand anything of minecraft but i try to host a server for my son and his friends.

This docker works fine for me. Now I tried to put OneBlock on this server. Now the game tells us the player needs operator rights for OneBlock. How can I do this? This is something on the serverside, not on the client side, correct? Please help. I'm asking for the kids 😚

You will need something like the Uperms plugin to manage access to the other plugins.

Not sure how you installed it, but there should be a yaml or something like it for configuration. You may be able to manually give access there.

I did managed it. Copilot is very helpful for such things.

Now i learned ops.json, the operator levels, etc. I slowly get into it.

But I don't understand why i have no problems to open this minecraft server for external use but with all other modded minecraftserver (I've tested so far) it is not reachable. I know how to handle external access with docker, router, ports, etc. This one works, Plex works. So it's not the technical problem with handle my hardware.

I don't understand this minecraft stuff. I think it's something because of only IPv6 behind cgnat and those others minecraft dockers. I don't know what to check to find the difference because this one is obvious working.

hmm, everything was working fine.

after the update i cannot reach it anymore outside the local network.

is it possible to roll back to the dockerversion before?

just to test if its working again?

  • Author

none of mine have had this problem.

no there is no way to roll back the version due to lack of space on the docker host.

Just curious was there every any headway on getting a session to the console other than RCON?

If not, how do I go about getting access to the RCON session as I typically manage on box or with web UI's for any game servers. Would I need to do a custom port mapping?

no there is no progress as yet.

you can use the rcon port and connect using putty.

Is the github down for neoforged? I can't install it.

4 hours later, and now I can install it. Is there any specific reason why I wouldn't be able to connect to the docker servers? I always get the "getsockopt" error when trying to join

there is an error that i am working on tracking down.

It seems like the issue with all of them is they can't run the newest version of MC because they aren't on Java 25.

  • Author

i will be updating them shortly

EDIT: Update has been pushed out to all versions and i am going to update the template to remove the separate world folder as new versions on Minecraft do not like that at all.

Could you please release a tag for a version still using java 21? Not all of my mods are compatible.

  • Author

i will not be adding tags for this for now but i have added a Variable for JAVA_VERSION (you will need to add the new variable yourself) that you can select the java version that you need such as 21 or 25(default)

I appreciate it, but it doesn't seem to be working.

I can manually download java 21 and change it to the default but that's less than ideal.
