mladams
I cannot seem to get my 2 NVME drives to show up in unraid. Ive read the forum and googled with no successful answer. Im using a Supermicro Server with an X10DSC+ MB. This board has 4 built in NVME ports of which Im using 2. Ive connected my 2 NVME drives via oculink cables to a 2 drive rear backplane. These drives appear in my Server's IPMI, but not unraid. Ive attached my diagnostics. any help is appreciated. Thanks! Unraid Diagnostic logs 7-15-22.zip Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
There are no signs of any NMVe devices in the diags, like if they were not connected, I know they appear on IPMI but do they appear in the board BIOS? Quote Link to comment
mladams
I Cant locate anything specific to the NVME drives in the BIOS settings. I spent probably half an hour looking through each setting and didn't locate anything about them. I'm really at a loss of what to do? Any ideas would be appreciated... Quote Link to comment

ChatNoir
If the drives are not visible in BIOS either, there no real hope that the OS would see them. It seems to be very specific to your server board, in your situation I would contact Supermicro support and ask if that's normal behavior and how to make the drives available to the OS. JorgeB
Sorry for the late reply, was away for a week, not sure the NVMe devices should be visible in the BIOS, I would assume so, recommend trying a different OS, use Windows or a different Linux distro just to see if it's the same or not, I would expect yes. kgclark75
Mladams, were you ever able to get this working? I have the same motherboard and am trying to do the same to connect a couple Optane 905 u.2 drives. Quote Link to comment
mladams
I never got them to work with the built in motherboard slots. I ended up buying a Supermicro pcie addon nvme card. I still have zero ideas on why it didn't work. If you have any luck please let me know! Thanks. I posted a pic of the card I used that worked.
