Backup data from array to an external drive connected to USB

Hi
I plan to additionally secure the data from my server and I want to backup the entire Array.
My Array consists of 4 disks + 1 parity (3TB each) with a capacity of 12TB.
I have a 12TB Seagate drive connected via USB.
And now I want to backup Array to USB drive once a day.
I plan to format the disk as exFAT.
I plan to do it with rsync and User Script plugin.
Now a question for you, is it a good solution or do you have a more interesting solution.

See the backup script example in the first post of the  unassigned devices plugin discussion thread.

 

I have and external 14TB USB drive as an unassigned device and use this script (modified for the four shares I wish to backup) to back them up automatically when the external USB drive is plugged into the server.

 

Since you can assign a device script to be run when the device is mounted, this makes it real easy.
