QNAP-EC Plugin -- has anyone got this working on unRAID (For those that moved from QNAP NAS)?

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I just moved my old TS-470+ over to unRAID. One thing that QNAP did well was controlling the fans automatically. I was just researching how I can push that functionality over to unraid and came across the QNAP-EC plugin, but there isn't much info how to properly get this working on unraid.

Has anyone done this themselves?

I see this feature request, which I commented on.

Hello gregzee,

I was at the same point as you and through some trial and error got the Autofan working with the QNAP-EC plugin. Since the auto-detect function did not work for me, I entered the path manually.

PWM controller: qnap_ec_pwm1

PWM fan:

/sys/devices/platform/qnap-ec/hwmon/hwmon1/fan1_input

I hope I could help with this

Hello hispeedsurfer,

How did you get the qnap-ec plugin working? Did you have to compile it yourself, or is it available for download?

I just added this plug in and I can not for the life of me find it anywhere to add the fan controller info.

I can see from the screen shot that its in Settings, but from there I have nothing that would indicate that the plugin is there.

Where do I go to set up the fan so I can stop it screaming at me all the time?

Thanks, I worked out my mistake but you were onto me too quickly.

qnap-ec is not recognizing my NAS (TS-EC879U-RP - Rack mount NAS) so Autofan is not working yet

after a lot of playing I was about to get mine to see the fans, 🙂  so my question is - at the moment I have send mine to the following and it will spin down the fans, but will the fans come back on, if the temp is to high ?
