March 14, 201214 yr Yea, and it seems to be specific to linux PMS or possibly even the Unraid build. I hoped it would be solved in .3 but it isn't so will find some time to post logs again The subtitle issue was also highlighted and solved with the help of myself and a bunch of others so amstill hopeful

I've started a thread in the Plex Linux forum about this and hope we can get enough support behind it to get it fixed. Tthis problem seems to be seen by most people running Plex on unRAID and from what I've seen all the logs are giving the same error message. With a widespread and consistent problem like this it seems it would be an easier and quicker fix than some other bugs. Here is the link for the plex thread: http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/38389-plex-transcoder-error-plex-requires-restart/ As for the problems you've been having with the media manager web page and loging in, I haven't experienced this myself.

Thanks for the link. I have now posted in the thread with logs and some analysis of the logs (though without the source I'm obviously unable to do anything). I'm "ProblematicLlama". Yes, I have 2 very strange usernames.
March 18, 201214 yr The Plex wiki (|http://wiki.plexapp.com/index.php/PlexNine_AdvancedInfo#Terminal_Commands) talks about some commands being available via the command line. E.g. on the mac, you can invoke it here: /Applications/Plex\ Media\ Server.app/Contents/MacOS/Plex\ Media\ Scanner Is there an equivalent that gets installed with this plugin? There appears to be something similar: {install_dir}/PlexMediaServer-09.3.5-c3e763f/Plex\ Media\ Scanner but invoking that gets me an error that libcurl.so.4 cannot open shared object

There appears to be something similar: {install_dir}/PlexMediaServer-09.3.5-c3e763f/Plex\ Media\ Scanner but invoking that gets me an error that libcurl.so.4 cannot open shared object I have never used it - could be related to the lack of parameters at the end, or maybe you're running it as the wrong user (should be run as unraid-plex). If I were you, I'd use the specific WebUI commands to do it (on the wiki page), you can actually do a fair amount of special scanning with it: Scanning and Refreshing Sections Turbo Scan a Section You can perform the same thing that occurs when you just press the Refresh button in the Media Manager, which is to do a Turbo Scan and then refresh metadata for any new items: Determine the Section ID to scan For example, the Movies Section above has an ID=29 http://[PMS_IP_ADDRESS]:32400/library/sections/29/refresh Deep Scan a Section You can perform the same thing that occurs when you OPTION- or ALT-click the Refresh button in the Media Manager, which is to do a Deep Scan and then refresh metadata for any new items: Determine the Section ID to scan For example, the Movies Section above has an ID=29 http://[PMS_IP_ADDRESS]:32400/library/sections/29/refresh?deep=1 Force Refresh a Section You can perform the same thing that occurs when you SHIFT-click the Refresh button in the Media Manager, which is to do a Force Refresh of metadata for all items in the section: Determine the Section ID to scan For example, the Movies Section above has an ID=29 http://[PMS_IP_ADDRESS]:32400/library/sections/29/refresh?force=1
March 19, 201214 yr Heads up, a new version released 0.9.5.3.309 http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/38976-0953309-for-linux/
March 19, 201214 yr Thanks I've just updated. To anyone else wanting to, I updated the .plg file for 0.9.5.3a to work with the new version. Don't know if the download part will work (I already had the file downloaded) but I replaces the references to the files and to the version number, and changed the MD5sum it looks for after download, so it should work. It's what I used to install it but as I said, I'd already had the .tar.bz2 downloaded. Not taking any credit for simply find-replacing in the file, just thought I'd make it easier for others to install. EDIT: Forum isn't letting me attach the file, keeps saying 406. Uploaded via mediafire: http://www.mediafire.com/?bt82vo75b2fmnx5 EDIT2: Updated with lowercase MD5
March 19, 201214 yr Ah sorry, changed it to lowercase (though I assume you've already done that anyway)
March 19, 201214 yr your updated file is still getting the MD5 error you have typo in the MD5. matched it to your first file that was in CAPS and it worked.
March 19, 201214 yr Author for all those, who could wait for 5 hours. here comes mine. (some people have to work for living ) UPDATE to 0.9.53-309
March 19, 201214 yr trying to update. It is my first upgrade with having to move my plex media server folder. It wont save any of my changes. it did, but not when i hit apply, everything grays out and it just hangs there. thoughts?
March 19, 201214 yr tried that but it wont save my library path. if I uncheck library directory, it saves it. page refreshes on its own. If I check the box and put in my custom path and hit save, it just grays out. if i refresh the page, my changes are not there. using the same path I used in the older version.
March 19, 201214 yr page refresh should work ;-) Yeah that's what I do too. I notice this with most plugins. I've also noticed that disabling for some reason still leaves some of the Plex processes alive and you have to manually kill them.
March 19, 201214 yr I will check for that. page refresh should work ;-) Yeah that's what I do too. I notice this with most plugins. I've also noticed that disabling for some reason still leaves some of the Plex processes alive and you have to manually kill them.

I've had the same problem previously with SimpleFeatures (I guess it may occur in the normal WebUI too, don't know). Either way, best thing to do it to manually edit the config file with vi.
March 19, 201214 yr Author @WonderfulSlipperyThing with my plugin? @mgworek why did you change things there?
March 19, 201214 yr Author @mgworek can you give me the output of: tail -n 30 /var/log/syslog | grep plex
March 19, 201214 yr Just trying to change the path of the library. Here is the output. /mnt/disk1/plex is what it is supposed to be but the web page shows Library Directory unchecked and /usr/local/plex Mar 19 18:08:12 Tower plex-rc.plex: Plex Media Server: changing owner of /mnt/disk1/plex to unraid-plex Mar 19 18:10:21 Tower plex-rc.plex: Nothing to Stop Mar 19 18:10:21 Tower plex-rc.plex: Plex Media Server: changing owner of /mnt/disk1/plex to unraid-plex Mar 19 18:12:06 Tower plex-rc.plex: Plex Media Server: changing owner of /mnt/disk1/plex to unraid-plex Mar 19 18:15:52 Tower plex-rc.plex: Nothing to Stop Mar 19 18:15:52 Tower plex-rc.plex: Plex Media Server: changing owner of /mnt/disk1/plex to unraid-plex Mar 19 18:20:59 Tower plex-rc.plex: Nothing to Stop Mar 19 18:20:59 Tower plex-rc.plex: Plex Media Server: changing owner of /usr/local/plex to unraid-plex Mar 19 18:21:24 Tower plex-rc.plex: Nothing to Stop Mar 19 18:21:24 Tower plex-rc.plex: Plex Media Server: changing owner of /mnt/disk1/plex to unraid-plex Mar 19 18:22:41 Tower plex-rc.plex: Nothing to Stop Mar 19 18:22:41 Tower plex-rc.plex: Plex Media Server: changing owner of /mnt/disk1/plex to unraid-plex Mar 19 18:24:39 Tower plex-rc.plex: Nothing to Stop Mar 19 18:24:39 Tower plex-rc.plex: Plex Media Server: changing owner of /mnt/disk1/plex to unraid-plex Mar 19 18:31:58 Tower plex-rc.plex: Nothing to Stop Mar 19 18:31:58 Tower plex-rc.plex: Plex Media Server: changing owner of /mnt/disk1/plex to unraid-plex
March 19, 201214 yr Thought about doing that, do you know where i would find the file? tried that but it wont save my library path. if I uncheck library directory, it saves it. page refreshes on its own. March 19, 201214 yr is it possible it is just taking awhile to change ownership and i just need to wait?
March 19, 201214 yr Author it changes the owner of the Library. But why is the Library on /usr/local/plex If you have a big library it can take a while.
