Will Mitchell
Hello! I apologize in advance, I have no idea what I need to help get this issue resolved. I have a cache drive, that is currently pegged at 100%, well 99% now, after trying my best to delete files that I can find that I don't need on the drive. I cannot get the mover to run at all. When I run the Mover, it instantly says that it's finished. I can do this in the GUI, or via command line, does not matter. How do I get this resolved? Quote Link to comment
Kilrah
You can enable mover logging and look at the syslog why it doesn't do its thing. Probably open files. Quote Link to comment
Will Mitchell
Okay, I already enabled diagnostics, and several other things, still can't read what is going on. I searched for "Error" and got nothing also Quote Link to comment
itimpi
You are likely to get better informed feedback if you attach your system’s diagnostics zip file to your next post in this thread. it is always a good idea when asking questions to supply your diagnostics so we can see details of your system, how you have things configured, and the current syslog. Will Mitchell
Thanks for being kind and letting me know what I need to attach. For the record, I have not changed anything in this setup, except try to move everything to the array, instead of using some sort of cache. The Mover is still not working. Currently, the majority of my Docker Containers are not working, and I have my VMs turned off. tower-diagnostics-20240125-1810.zip Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
All shares are configured to cache=only or cache=no, so the mover won't mover anything, see here: https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/release-notes/6.12.0/#share-storage-conceptual-change Quote Link to comment
Will Mitchell
Thank you! Can you screenshot where this cache=only setting is? I saw posts about this, but I have no idea where to set that. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
See the link above, now it's not called that, but all the settings are per shares, click on a share first. Quote Link to comment
Will Mitchell
So like this? I have set this, ran the mover, and nothing changed. Still at 100%, mover instantly stops. Quote Link to comment
Solution Will Mitchell Posted January 26 Author Solution Share Posted January 26 I figured it out, I am an idiot. I ran a Docker that downloaded 200gb of data without me realizing. TreeSize helped me figure that out. THANK YOU for all the help! Quote Link to comment
