Unraid Connect: Failed to Sync Flash Backup

Featured Replies

I've noticed that if I run the steps @andrebrait suggested and then re-activate, I briefly see a "permission denied" message before the page refreshes. Once I click the update button after the page loads, I receive the "failed to sync flash backup" message.

I'm having the same issue. 6.12.15. Updated to latest version of connect. Tried many things in the forums but cannot get flash backup feature to work. Really sad because I love the concept of this feature...

I’m wondering if it’s a permissions issue. In terminal, I ran mount | grep /boot and got this: fmask=0177, dmask=0077

Are those the correct permissions?

I have all the same symptoms. On 7.0.1, don't know when it stopped working, but it used to work. I de-activated, re-activated, activated, removed the cert, had the cert re-created. Just says "failed to sync flash backup."

Same here. Tried everything suggested. UnRaid 7.0.1

thought i'd try unraid connect to get online flash backups, however flash backup is not working, same as op. what a waist of time, thanks

Also having the same flash backup issue with one of my two Unraid servers.  One server, that was built several years ago (Pro license), updates/syncs the flash backup through Connect without issue. Another server that was built over the weekend (Lifetime license), fails to update/sync the flash backup through Connect.  Both servers are on version 7.0.1.

Exact same experience here, Unraid v7.0.0 with latest version of Unraid Connect.

This is still BROKEN! Even after the latest update. Can anyone help with this?????

I believe LT is looking into it, but while there's definitely an issue, it just affects some users, and last I know of, they haven't been able to reproduce it yet.

Are all users having the issue in a new config, or was the flash drive backup working and stopped?

I have both scenarios.

  • An existing Unraid 7.0.1 system that had formerly been working which now fails.
  • A new Unraid 7.0.1 build which has never been able to backup.

Both licensed with "lifetime" licenses, in case that is a factor.

It was working for me at some point in the past. I started on v6.

LT believe the issue was found, it can take one or two days for the fix to get applied to all, but please keep testing and it should start working soon.

I de-activated and then activated. Received Activated: Up-to-Date

Thank you!

I can confirm it’s working for me now as well. I didn’t have to do anything - just loaded the Connect plugin, and it showed as up-to-date.

It’s working for me now as well. And now the obligatory question: since the backups are not encrypted, what kind of personal info or data is at risk if the backups were to be accessed nefariously?

  • 2 weeks later...

I can confirm that this is now working. It would have been nice if someone on the unRAID side of things would have acknowledge the issue and let us know it was being worked on instead of having us rack our heads trying to fix the issue on the server side of things.
