Office365 SMTP Authorization Failed - Oct 1, 2024

Featured Replies

Anyone else run into their notifications failing as of Oct 1, 2024?

Authorization failed (535 5.7.139 Authentication unsuccessful, basic authentication is disabled. [YT2PR01CA0024.CANPRD01.PROD.OUTLOOK.COM 2024-10-04T16:53:39.538Z 08DCE450F51FB4BD])

I guess basic auth for SMTP is done now from Micro Soft.

Anyone have a different config to get this working again? I can't seem to find a solution to use in Unraid.

Same here, used to use an outlook.com emaila address for notifications to all nas/unraid notifications, but seems Microsoft disabled basic smtp auth, and I can't use it anymore, didn't find a workaround.
Any idea to setup account to get at least unraid send notifications using outlook.com ? or an other mail service that could do the job ...

Couldn't find a resolution for Outlook/Office365

On a managed office365 account, app passwords can be enabled and work fine. I have no clue whether app passwords are available with free accounts.

I’ve enabled an app password for Outlook and have tried several times, but I still can't get it to work. I'm currently using a free account.

Bump, same here, app passwords do not work

Same problem.  In the Unraid notification settings, why isn't there an option for "OAuth2" authentication method?
