Intel Arc B570 battlemage

Featured Replies

Has anyone gotten an intel Arc B570/B580 Battlemage GPU working yet? I am on the latest unraid beta 7.1.0-beta.2.  The GPU stats plugin shows the unit id for dashboard as this in the drop down menu "08:00.0: Battlemage G21 [Arc B570] - 0000:08:00.0". I have the Intel gpu top installed and have rebooted several times.  Looks like the GPU is showing up in a IOMMMU group. But I cant added it to a docker container and just says "ls: cannot access '/dev/dri': No such file or directory"  Any help is appreciated sorry I am a scrub when it comes to this stuff. ThanksScreenshot2025-04-03at4_13_39PM.thumb.png.524c0dcc6c76cae31a85482b6584294f.png

You may have to force_probe the card. Have a look to see if there are any messages in syslog or dmesg?

I think I am having a similar issue with my recently installed B580. Looking at one of the other threads, it’s simply adding options xe.force_probe=XXXX (XXXX swapped for GPU ID) to the xe portion of System Drivers, right? Should I leave the i915 portion alone since I also have an iGPU (14900k)? Thank you so much!

I'm also having an issue with this, and I think I've added the two modprobes correctly, but I don't even get a GUI anymore when I choose unRAID GUI mode on boot up. I'm beginning to think that there may be something wrong with my upgrade but I genuinely have no idea what to do anymore.

I realize that Plex won't work until they sort out their end of things, but at the very least it should work on unRAID from what I'm reading. Even this guy managed to get it working, but I wish he'd have actually documented his configuration even a little.

The lack of GPU support that isn't ngreedia is getting tiring.

Don't worry though. Unraid is always looking to up the charges on their licensing programs cause you know they're working tirelessly on creating updates for GPUs that are going on 2 years old now.

Unraid has no control over the linux kernel. The linux kernel is what decides what GPUs are supported or not.

If you're not aware limetech only ships unraid with the LTS kernel which stands for "Long Term Support" Unraid does not use bleeding edge linux kernels. If you want to use bleeding edge hardware you're going to have to wait for the LTS kernel with the hardware support. LTS kernels are not fast to release.

Intel battlemage GPUs will not work on kernel 6.12 as battlemage support wasn't added in until 6.14. 6.14 is not an LTS kernel.

If you need more info on LTS kernel releases: https://www.kernel.org/category/releases.html
