Hello, I am sorry to post again, didn't know what happen, my rebuild is failed after retrying couple of times, to provide context this is continuance from my post before: here
this is the latest diagnostics..
So I want to retry with another harddrive but awhile ago I bought a 12TB hdd, so currently my plan are (and in progress):

1.  clone 10TB disks parity into 12 TB (done)

2. 10TB previously will reformatted and plug in to replace disk C..

however, after I clone 10TB to 12 TB (using clonezilla), when I put it into array, it is not recognized as a new parity. so if i started the array, it will build new parity which all data from disk 3 will be lost. That is why I cloned it first. 
is it okay if I follow this guide ? Thanks in advance

You would need to do a new config, but I'm not familiar with Cloneziel, since parity should not be recognized with a valid filesystem, I assume it was a bit by bit copy like dd, parity won't be valid if it wasn't.

 

Assuming the new parity is valid, you can try this:

 

-Tools -> New Config -> Retain current configuration: All -> Apply
-Check all assignments and assign any missing disk(s) if needed, including the new disk3 and new parity, replacement disk3 should be same size or larger than the old one
-IMPORTANT - Check both "parity is already valid" and "maintenance mode" and start the array (note that the GUI will still show that data on parity disk(s) will be overwritten, this is normal as it doesn't account for the checkbox, but it won't be as long as it's checked)
-Stop array
-Unassign disk3
-Start array (in normal mode now), and post new diagnostics

All is NOT alright. 

 

Emulated disk3 is unmountable. If you rebuild all you will get is an unmountable disk3.

 

Usually we do check filesystem before rebuilding to make the emulated disk mountable before rebuild.

 

No idea whether parity is valid enough to allow you to fix the filesystem, but not much else we can try.

start array in maintenance mode and then running check filesystem in disk3 but it keeps loading for long time,

I haven't reviewed that other thread. Why did you think cloning parity would be a good idea?

At first I wanted to upgrade my array, I bought a 12TB HDD, because my parity drive is 10TB, so my plan is to set the new 12 TB as a new parity drive formatted the 10TB, then replace one of the array with 10TB array, however while in shipping disk3 (at first size is 1TB) failing, so I replace it with spare 2TB harddrive (my previous thread) and rebuilding failing too, so I want to create parity 12TB (thus cloning) and make sure it is everything ok, then replacing disk3 with 10TB (current plan) 

so what is the best plan?

1. put 10TB original parity in new config with "old configuration", then replace disk3 with another harddrive? less risks of losing data but have to buy another drive
2. format 10TB original parity and put it in disks3 with the risks of parity in 12TB is not valid and lost all content in disk3?

Sounds like you should have used parity swap. Was sde original disk3? That disk is bad.

Are you doing this from the webUI and not the command line? Easy to get the command wrong, webUI will get it right.

I am using web UI, I started the array and rebuilding in progress, but the speed is very slow, only around 800KB/s

Why are you trying to reuse that very bad disk for rebuild?

Do not format 10TB. Just assign it as disk3 and start the array to begin rebuild.

Okay, I decide to buy another drive, I'll keep 10TB original parity for backup if something happen, so I will assign new drive to disk3 and start the array?

While waiting for new drive, should I put it no device and start the array, just start the array, or just shutdown the unraid and start after new disk arrive?

Can't simply put that back in as parity if that's what you had in mind. At least, not without following some detailed instructions. If something does happen please ask for advice before doing anything.

That would be safest. You have no redundancy until disk3 is rebuilt.

my bad, yes it is, rebuilding disk3, and it faster than my expectation. but my disk replacement is 4TB and it shows capacity 2TB, is that normal?

 

Once the rebuild finishes, stop and restart the array and post new diags.

Here is the diagnostic and it is weird, I stopped the array, and disk3 is missing, I select the WD4 (newly and finished rebuilding) and wrong volume and started rebuilding again, and wrong file system/unmountable...

Looks like you rebooted after that, syslog resets when you reboot, so can't see what happened before reboot.

 

Check filesystem on disk3 from the webUI, post the output.

 

 

So do I need to stop rebuilding process? Or wait for it to finished first?

So you are rebuilding an unmountable filesystem onto disk3 and the result will be an unmountable filesystem. Usually we try to repair before rebuilding on top of the same disk. That gives us more options.

 

I guess you might as well let it complete and hope for the best when we repair the rebuilt filesystem.

Were you running the check from the GUI or the command line?   If the command line what was the exact command you used as it is easy to get it wrong?
