May 7, 201214 yr I keep seeing "more support, more info, more patches, more this, more that..." While i keep seeing people reminding everyone that we bought 4.7.. the beta is free. use at your own risk... Yes, I'll admit that at times the updates can seem a little stale. yes there were a few broken promises . but that is the normal with IT in general, especially software dev all over the world. Lets not forget at how much you paid. $150 for 2 Pro Licenses? free upgrades for life and pretty decent forum support and i hear pretty good offline support if you're in a bind... If you want Microsoft level support or Sun level of support. you would have to pay $1000's for all of that.. the price of licenses would have to go up if this was Toms only source of income. if you expect him to hire a staff for tech support... even higher prices.. I'm sorry but if this product cost more then it does now. I would have to seriously consider other options... Bottom line is I'm happy. my data is safe. I could be happier once in a while.. but it is not worth shaking my fist at. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.. That one of the main uses for the internet these days... sharing those opinions. +1 I absolutely agree. I am very happy with how much I paid for what I got; I can stream 5+ 1080p videos to my PC flawlessly while copying data to the server at 60MB/Sec+ and this isn't even pushing limits yet, I can add, upgrade and mix drives and rearrange shares as I see fit and everything just WORKS. I am looking for an excuse to build another server just to contribute more to this project. I'm even going to buy licenses for a couple mates as birthday presents
May 7, 201214 yr I thought the roadmap was more of a todo list of goals, then bugtracking, although it could be used in that manner. The section "tasklist" shows an overview of outstanding tasks, these include bug reports. http://download.lime-technology.com/develop/infusions/aw_todo/project.php?id=1&view=list

May 8, 201214 yr So the roadmap/bug tracker has been done in the past, just not kept up to date or not efficient enough maybe? I'm sure it could be refined so people could post comments relating to the issue as well, and/or links to related threads. We do have this now though: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=UnRAID_Bug_Tracking
May 8, 201214 yr Currently it's an independent web site that requires membership, and the only current member is 'tomm', with no apparent new membership mechanism. Its primary advantage is that it already exists, and is fully accessible to Tom. It is up to him whether he allows community involvement or not. I suspect he set it up though, for a public representation of the various tasks and their progress and where each fits in the road map. The bugs therefore are only represented here as tasks in the workflow, not as part of a comprehensive bug tracking process. It does allow more formal data collection, with fields for severity, long descriptions and comments, etc, but they aren't sortable or filterable (in a report or printed list), or even directly viewable until you click their link. That makes severity rather useless. At least with a Wiki page, I can color code the bugs, with those generally considered blockers in red, those that are confirmed and serious in blue, and those yet unconfirmed (not yet replicated by anyone else) in black, which at least becomes a visually intuitive bug report. As far as I could see, there is no support at all for testing or verification of fixes. It does allow you to easily see which have been closed. I don't think a bug tracking system is very good, if it has trouble competing with a free form Wiki page!
May 17, 201214 yr First post and tired of lurking BTW limetech and all the members with "constructive" feedback, nice job on the RC3 package. Member participation was the reason I decided to buy 2 licenses.
May 18, 201214 yr Honestly I've come down with UCD, I'm currently saving so I can build another server...even though my first one isn't near capacity yet, . I think I'm going to go a ITX route and make a small box that is more portable.
