Automover for unRAID

Thank you in advance, im loving this plugin!!!
I was wondering if it is possible to implement a mover pause based on array disk temperature and then a restart once below a certain threshold?

sorry about that, fixed in new release

Just discovered this and looks great but having issues getting it to work.

I have a cache pool 96% full because the move isn't occurring.

Share is standard cache pool primary and secondary Unraid array.

There's files showing in both the share and pool that should be moving.

If I check the pool within the plugin it's confirming 96% full which is over the 80% threshold and 1% stop.

Manually running the move says no files to move.

If you do this without the plugin does it move?

Did some testing, here's what I found.

The settings/tick boxes only save if you stop and start the mover as the save button is combined.

Therefore my autostart was never saved and it wasn't running.

However, the manual move, multiple attempted, did not find anything to move.

The scheduled move triggered and it found all the files to move began moving.

At first I thought it was much slower than normal mover but testing shows it is a little slower.

From mover start at 96% it went down to 88% in 25 minutes.

Stopping and using the Unraid mover in 15 minutes it went from 88% to 77%.

Maybe coincidence but the share is fill-up so in both tests the source and destination disks are the same.

Did note that shares are /mnt/user/sharename but the mover log shows it's moving them to /mnt/user0/sharename .

Another note was the files move but not the folders, you end up with a bunch of empty folders in the cache pool; assume cleanup setting sorts this?

yea the save and start are combined glad you sorted that one :) the manual move not finding something is something a user mentioned awhile back but i've not been able to reproduce and iirc the manual move started working just fine after the first scheduled move ran so i'm still trying to work that bug out. the user0 being shown is how the internal moving needs to be as user0 specifies array only disks so there wouldn't be a situation where you're writing from pool to user since user is both array disks and the pool disk assigned to the share that could cause data overwriting itself. yes cleanup takes care of any empty folders on the pool drive

Thanks @jcofer555 .

The UI is a little confusing, it seems that you can't have different settings per pool?

I'm assuming that based on the threshold numbers stay at custom values when I switch pools.

It would be really nice to have per pool settings.
The age based filter is excellent but I can see me wanting different values per pool etc.

can't have different settings per pool, automover only works for one pool at a time but i'm working on a conversion to allow multiple but not guaranteeing i'll crack that as it's a almost entire rewrite of the plugin

I don't need parallel moving of pools or do you mean you can only control a single pool 🥲.

can only control a single pool

That's a shame, thanks for the great plugin.

Have a feature request, option to override the file age.

Example, full threshold is 80% and minimum 1%, with file age on x number of days.

When the schedule runs it will check if space is over 80% and then move files over the set days.

However, if new files are created in high enough volume it will fill the drive with most files newer than set days.

You could turn off the age setting, but most of the time you want to keep files on the cache a while to make use of the speed and avoiding disk spin.

What I'm proposing is an overflow setting.

If when the mover runs and the disk space is over full threshold but there's no files old enough, move the oldest files until below the full threshold.

Hopefully this makes sense and isn't burdensome add.

question i have my downloads and media on a ssd downloads pool. can automover move my files from that ssd to the array? Session finished - 2026-03-10 04:04:44

yes it can, my guess is you just installed and tried using the move now button? if so other users are reporting the bug the move now button doesn't work until the first scheduled run runs

got a beta going where i converted to multi schedule so in turn automover will now support multiple pools soon :)

what version of the plugin are you on? and can you send a screenshot of the settings you have selected when clicking move

Im on version 2026.03.16.03 and my settings im trying to save: image.pngimage.png

It seems like one of the recent updates removes the 'minutes' section for the scheduler? Now the most frequently I can set it for it is every 4 hours. But the actual schedule seems to still be running on my old schedule of every 2 minutes.

yes minutes and custom was removed do to how difficult it was to manage those options with the other functions of the scheduling, it's using your old setting because that one isn't wiped from the configs on update of the plugin and it's still valid cron so it'll keep working. i left it from changing the old so it'd keep running how it has been for users but if they want to change anything they are gonna have to change to the new options

Thanks for the response, but damn, that makes it alot less useful to me if it's only checking if it needs to run ever 4 hours. that's less frequently than the built-in mover
my system runs into issues if the cache drive is ever full, so I really need to run the mover frequently or atleast have it checking if it needs to run.

Still works for now though

is there an update on the "save_settings.php returned an empty response — check the PHP file for errors"
