Memory usage...

Featured Replies

I only have Simple Features installed. Anyone know why unraid is taking/using so much memory? I have 8GB installed, and it seems unraid just gobbles it all up all the time. I haven't had any "issues" but could there be a memory leak of some sorts some where? I'm running 5.0 rc5.

It's hardly using any. I can barely make out the Used area.

No. You misunderstand how Linux uses memory. Unused memory is wasted memory. The memory is used as cache for the filesystem or other devices. If an application needs to use it, the memory is freed up for application use.

Ya this topic has been brought up many times already. I'm surprised you haven't seen it yet since you've been around for a hot minute. No worries though, it's by design.

No, I haven't seen it before. I guess I missed it. I don't read every post on the forum.

My post count doubles yours, so I'm not sure what you meant by "hot minute"? No worries though, I'm good.

I guess that drealit is referring to the fact that he's been a member here for more than four years - against your one and a half.

Hot minute means a long time...loosely.

So he's saying he's surprised you haven't noticed it since you've been around for a while and are not new.

Oh, ok. I didn't know the terminology. Sorry for any confusion.
