seanant
All the disk vendors need to unload product and they've got 45 days left to do it to show another year of growth and profit. My guess is we will see another drop in spinning disk product next week or so The desktop commercial 1Tb drives dropped this week so $50 a TB now. That's huge compared to the peak earlier this year. It would be great to see SSD prices drop. Quote Link to comment
Chappy
Have to resist with Black Friday around the corner.... I'm a little new to UnRaid and have not built my server yet. Is this now the "drive of choice" for UnRaid? Quote Link to comment
lionelhutz
I'd say the Red for the 3-year warranty or this one when they are on sale for in the $120-$130 range; http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=77086&vpn=HDKPC08&manufacture=Toshiba That's the Hitachi drive being sold by the new owner. whiteatom
Is toshiba going to be bringing out coolspin drives too? Quote Link to comment
lionelhutz
No idea. But these are running almost as cool as a WD Green drive so maybe you'd see some slight power savings but otherwise I'd see no advantage to a lower rpm version. Quote Link to comment
whiteatom
As long as my PSU can handle it, I'd agree. I guess I gotta add the numbers up. Quote Link to comment
