Raident
Does anybody have recommendations of software for backing up client machines to the unRAID server? Link to comment
garycase
Basically any synchronization/backup utility you like will work fine -- UnRAID is just a NAS for this purpose, which you're using as the destination for the backups. I like SyncBack; but Microsoft's free SyncToy works well; Karenware's Replicator; RoboCopy; etc. all work well. Link to comment
jbartlett
I installed True Image and configured it to automatically backup to the UNRAID server. 2 full backups with 14 incremental backups. Also set up a user named "acronis" on my PC and UNRAID and set the backup to run as that user. So if I get hit by maleware that likes to encypt files and hold them hostage, it can't touch my backups. autumnwalker
You could use CrashPlan and set unRAID as a network storage device for backup destination. Link to comment
garycase
As I noted above, you can use ANYTHING you want on the client PC's, since from the perspective of the backup software you decide to use UnRAID is just a "BIG disk" Link to comment
S80_UK
I use FreeFileSync to back up folders or drives from Windows machines. Very configurable. Link to comment
